勇士啊，你為甚麼以行壞事自誇，而攻擊上帝堅貞之士呢？

要等待伸冤報應的日子，等待他們的腳顛躓的時候麼？因為他們遭遇災難的日子近了，那準備要臨到他們身上的就要迅速地來臨。

永恆主滿有公義在她中間；他不作非義之事；他天天早晨顯出他的公平，其光並無不繼；但不義的人卻不知羞恥。

在責罰的日子、以法蓮必成為荒涼；關於以色列族派所要遭受的、我如今讓人知道確定的事。

那時人民怎樣，祭司也必怎樣；僕人怎樣，主人也必怎樣；婢女怎樣，主母也必怎樣；買物的怎樣，賣物的也必怎樣；借給人的怎樣，向人借的也必怎樣；放債的怎樣，借債的也必怎樣。

他們的結局是滅亡；他們所事奉的神就是自己的肚子；他們所誇耀的是在於他們的羞恥；他們是意念着地上之事的人。

你大白日天必跌倒：神言人夜間也必和你一同跌倒：你正在毁滅你母親呢。我的人民因無知識而被毁滅；你、你既棄絕了知識，我也必棄絕你、不讓你做我的祭司。你既忘了你的上帝的禮節規矩，我、我也必忘了你的兒女。

她的王侯在那中間正如吼叫的獅子抓撕所抓到之物；人的性命他們吞滅了，資財和珍寶他們拿取了；他們使寡婦在那中間增多了。她的祭司強解了我的禮節規矩，褻瀆了我的聖物；聖的和俗的他們都不分別，不潔淨的潔淨的他們也不使人分辨，我的安息日他們也掩目不顧，以致我在他們中間都被褻慢了。她的首領在她裏邊正彷彿豺狼抓撕所抓到之物；他們行兇流人的血，殺滅人的性命，要得不義之財。她的神言人用灰水給他們塗抹上，見虛謊的異象，給他們行謊詐的占卜、說：「主永恆主這麼說」，其實永恆主並沒有說。這國的人民一味欺壓人，慣行搶奪，欺負困苦貧窮的，欺壓寄居的、毫無公道。我在他們中間要找一個人來修造藩籬，在我面前為這國站在破口之處，使我不毁滅這國，卻找不着一個。故此我將我的盛怒倒在他們身上，我用我震怒之火去消滅他們，將他們所行的還報與他們頭上：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。』

這人民還沒有回轉來歸向那擊打他們、的主，還沒有尋求萬軍之永恆主。因此永恆主從以色列中剪除了頭與尾，就在一日之間、剪除棕枝與燈草——（長老和體面人乃是頭；以虛假指教人的、神言人乃是尾。那些領導這人民的、使他們走錯了路；那些被領導的、都混混亂亂。）故此他們的壯丁、主不喜歡，他們的孤兒寡婦、主不憐憫；因為各人都是不拜上帝、作壞事的，各人的口都說着愚昧的話。雖有這一切，永恆主的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍然伸着。
