For the sons of Judah have done that which is evil in My sight,” declares the Lord.“ They have put their detestable things in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.

耶和华说：“犹大人做了我视为邪恶的事，把可憎的偶像放在用来敬拜我的圣殿中，玷污了圣殿。

“因为犹大人行了我看为恶的事，把他们可憎的偶像安放在称为我名下的殿中，污渎了这殿。”这是耶和华的宣告。

“‘ The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it.

“ The people of Judah have done what is evil in my eyes,” announces the Lord.“ They have set up statues of their gods. They have worshiped them in the house where my Name is. They have made my house‘ unclean.’ I hate those statues.

“ For the sons of Judah have done evil in my sight, declares the Lord. They have set their detestable things in the house that is called by my name, to defile it.

“ The people of Judah have sinned before my very eyes,” says the Lord.“ They have set up their abominable idols right in the Temple that bears my name, defiling it.

“ For the Judeans have done what is evil in my sight.” This is the LORD’s declaration.“ They have set up their abhorrent things in the house that bears my name in order to defile it.

For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight,” says the Lord.“ They have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to pollute it.

For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, saith Jehovah: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

“ For the Judeans have done what is evil in My sight.” This is the Lord’s declaration.“ They have set up their detestable things in the house that is called by My name and defiled it.

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

The LORD says,“ I have rejected them because the people of Judah have done what I consider evil. They have set up their disgusting idols in the temple which I have claimed for my own and have defiled it.

“ For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight,” says Yahweh.“ They have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

But they put their detestable things in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.

Moreover, they transformed the splendor of His jewels into pride, and they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an abhorrent thing to them.

He built altars in the house of the Lord of which the Lord had said,“ My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”He built altars for all the heavenly lights in the two courtyards of the house of the Lord.

Then he put the carved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon,“ In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.

And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said,“ In Jerusalem I will put My name.”

And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come the one who makes desolate, until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, gushes forth on the one who makes desolate.”

Then he put the carved image of the idol which he had made in the house of God, of which God had said to David and his son Solomon,“ In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

Then He said to me,“ Son of man, raise your eyes now toward the north.” So I raised my eyes toward the north, and behold, to the north of the altar gate was this idol of jealousy at the entrance.And He said to me,“ Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Israel are committing here, so that I would be far from My sanctuary? But yet you will see still greater abominations!”Then He brought me to the entrance of the courtyard, and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.And He said to me,“ Son of man, now dig through the wall.” So I dug through the wall, and behold, an entrance.Then He said to me,“ Go in and see the wicked abominations that they are committing here.”So I entered and looked, and behold, every form of crawling things and animals and detestable things, with all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.And standing in front of them were seventy elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them, each man with his censer in his hand; and the fragrance of the cloud of incense was rising.Then He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each man in the rooms of his carved images? For they say,‘ The Lord does not see us; the Lord has abandoned the land.’ ”And He said to me,“ Yet you will see still greater abominations which they are committing!”Then He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the Lord’s house which was toward the north; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.And He said to me,“ Do you see this, son of man? Yet you will see still greater abominations than these!”Then He brought me into the inner courtyard of the Lord’s house. And behold, at the entrance to the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty five men with their backs to the temple of the Lord while their faces were toward the east; and they were prostrating themselves eastward toward the sun.And He said to me,“ Do you see this, son of man? Is it a trivial thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they have committed here, that they have filled the land with violence and provoked Me to anger repeatedly? Yet behold, they are putting the twig to their nose!

“ For both prophet and priest are defiled; Even in My house I have found their wickedness,” declares the Lord.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the utensils that had been made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the heavenly lights; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley, and carried their ashes to Bethel.Then he did away with the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the surrounding area of Jerusalem, as well as those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the remaining heavenly lights.He also brought out the Asherah from the house of the Lord outside Jerusalem to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and ground it to dust, and threw its dust on the graves of the common people.

And He said to me,“ Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their prostitution and by the corpses of their kings when they die,by putting their threshold by My threshold, and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have committed. So I have consumed them in My anger.

He also removed the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the Lord, as well as all the altars which he had built on the mountain of the house of the Lord and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside the city.

The king also tore down the altars that were on the roof, the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courtyards of the house of the Lord; and he smashed them there and threw their dust into the brook Kidron.
