Therefore say to them,‘ This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.

So say to them,‘ You are a nation that has not obeyed the Lord your God. You did not pay attention when you were corrected. Truth has died out. You do not tell the truth anymore.’ ”

And you shall say to them,‘ This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, and did not accept discipline; truth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.

Say to them,‘ This is the nation whose people will not obey the Lord their God and who refuse to be taught. Truth has vanished from among them; it is no longer heard on their lips.

Therefore, declare to them,‘ This is the nation that would not listen to the LORD their God and would not accept discipline. Truth has perished— it has disappeared from their mouths.

And you shall say to them,‘ This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God or accept discipline; trustworthiness has perished and has been eliminated from their mouth.

“ So you shall say to them,‘ This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

And thou shalt say unto them, This is the nation that hath not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

You must therefore declare to them: This is the nation that would not listen to the voice of the Lord their God and would not accept discipline. Truth has perished— it has disappeared from their mouths.

But thou shalt say unto them, This[ is] a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

So tell them:‘ This is a nation that has not obeyed the LORD their God and has not accepted correction. Faithfulness is nowhere to be found in it. These people do not even profess it anymore.

You shall tell them,‘ This is the nation that has not listened to Yahweh their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’

公平被迫后退，公义站在远处；诚实在街上跌倒，正直不能进入。诚实缺乏，远离恶事的人反成为掠物。耶和华看见了，就看这为恶事（“就看这为恶事”或译：“很不喜悦”），因为一点公平也没有。

嗐！犯罪的国，罪孽深重的子民，行恶的子孙，败坏的儿女！他们离弃了耶和华，藐视以色列的圣者，他们转离了他。你们为什么屡次悖逆，还要受责打吗？你们整个头都受了伤，整个心都发昏了。

他们以背向我，不以脸向我；我不断教导他们，他们却不肯听从，不接受管教；

她不听话，也不受管教；她不倚靠耶和华，也不亲近她的神。

耶和华啊！你的眼目不是要看诚实的事吗？你击打他们，他们却不觉得伤痛；你摧毁他们，他们仍不肯接受管教。他们板着脸，脸皮比磐石还硬，总不肯回转。

敬畏耶和华是知识的开端，但愚妄人藐视智慧和教训。

以色列人哪！你们要听耶和华的话。耶和华要与这地的居民争辩，因为在这地上没有诚实，没有慈爱，也没有认识神的知识；

至于你，你憎恨管教，并且把我的话丢在背后。

风箱猛烈地吹，铅在火中销熔；他们炼而又炼，徒劳无功，因为邪恶的仍未除去。人要称他们为被弃的银渣，因为耶和华把他们弃绝了。

耶路撒冷啊！应当受警戒，免得我的心与你疏远，免得我使你荒凉，成为无人居住之地。”

“你们去走遍耶路撒冷的街道，到处观察留意，又在城的广场上寻觅；如果能找到一个行正义、求诚实的人，我就赦免这城。

“我责打你们的儿女也是没用，因为他们不受管教。你们的刀剑，像灭命的狮子吞噬你们的先知。

我说：“她定要敬畏我，接受管教。”这样，她的住所必不会照着我原定对她的惩罚被剪除。可是他们殷勤行恶，败坏了自己一切所作的。

虔敬的人从地上灭绝了，人间也没有正直的人，人人都埋伏着要流人的血，各人都用网罗猎取自己的兄弟。他们双手善于作恶，官长和审判官都要求报酬；达官贵人说出心里的欲望；他们歪曲了一切。他们中最好的，也不过像荆棘，最正直的，也不过是有刺的篱笆。你的守望者所预言的日子，和你被鉴察的时候，已经来到；现在他们必要慌乱不安。不可信靠邻舍，也不可信任朋友，要守住你的嘴唇，不可向躺在你怀中的妻子透露。

“他们弯曲舌头，像弯弓一样；在这地得势的是虚谎，不是诚实；因为他们变本加厉地作恶，连我也不认识。”这是耶和华的宣告。“你们各人要提防自己的邻舍，不要信靠兄弟；因为每一个兄弟都在欺骗人，每一个邻舍都搬弄是非。他们各人都欺骗自己的邻舍，不说诚实话。他们训练自己的舌头说谎话，竭力作孽，以致他们不能回转（按照《马索拉文本》，本句意思难确定；现参照《七十士译本》翻译）。欺凌加上欺凌，诡诈加上诡诈（按照《马索拉文本》，“欺凌加上欺凌，诡诈加上诡诈”作“你的住所在诡诈中；在诡诈里”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），他们不肯认识我。”这是耶和华的宣告。因此，万军之耶和华这样说：“看哪！我要熬炼他们，试验他们；因我子民（“我子民”原文作“我子民的女子”）的罪恶，我还可以作什么呢？他们的舌头是杀人的利箭，嘴里说的是诡诈；跟邻舍说话满口甜言蜜语，心底里却设计陷害他。
