what I did to Shiloh I will do to the house that bears my name, the house in which you trust, the place that I gave you and your ancestors.

故我必廢棄斯殿、為我名而建者、即爾所恃者、亦必廢棄我所賜爾與爾列祖之處、如昔我在示羅所行者然、

Therefore, what I did to Shiloh I will now do to the house that bears my Name, the temple you trust in, the place I gave to you and your ancestors.

So what I did to Shiloh I will now do to the house where my Name is. It is the temple you trust in. It is the place I gave to you and your people of long ago.

therefore I will do to the house that is called by my name, and in which you trust, and to the place that I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

So just as I destroyed Shiloh, I will now destroy this Temple that bears my name, this Temple that you trust in for help, this place that I gave to you and your ancestors.

therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave you and your fathers, just as I did to Shiloh.

therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

therefore will I do unto the house which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

what I did to Shiloh I will do to the house that is called by My name— the house in which you trust— the place that I gave you and your ancestors.

Therefore will I do unto[ this] house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

So I will destroy this temple which I have claimed as my own, this temple that you are trusting to protect you. I will destroy this place that I gave to you and your ancestors, just like I destroyed Shiloh.

therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

Do not trust deceitful words, chanting,“ This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.”

He burned the LORD’s temple, the king’s palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem; he burned down all the great houses.

They will besiege you within all your city gates until your high and fortified walls, that you trust in, come down throughout your land. They will besiege you within all your city gates throughout the land the LORD your God has given you.

Then do you come and stand before me in this house that bears my name and say,“ We are rescued, so we can continue doing all these detestable acts”?

As Jesus left and was going out of the temple, his disciples came up and called his attention to its buildings.He replied to them,“ Do you see all these things? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down.”

He spoke to the others in my hearing:“ Pass through the city after him and start killing; do not show pity or spare them!Slaughter the old men, the young men and women, as well as the children and older women, but do not come near anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple.Then he said to them,“ Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go!” So they went out killing people in the city.

He abandoned the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent where he resided among mankind.

He burned the LORD’s temple, the king’s palace, all the houses of Jerusalem; he burned down all the great houses.The whole Chaldean army with the captain of the guards tore down all the walls surrounding Jerusalem.Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, deported some of the poorest of the people, as well as the rest of the people who remained in the city, the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the craftsmen.But Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.Now the Chaldeans broke into pieces the bronze pillars for the LORD’s temple and the water carts and the bronze basin that were in the LORD’s temple, and they carried all the bronze to Babylon.They also took the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, sprinkling basins, dishes, and all the bronze articles used in the temple service.The captain of the guards took away the bowls, firepans, sprinkling basins, pots, lampstands, pans, and drink offering bowls— whatever was gold or silver.As for the two pillars, the one basin, with the twelve bronze oxen under it, and the water carts that King Solomon had made for the LORD’s temple, the weight of the bronze of all these articles was beyond measure.One pillar was 27 feet tall, had a circumference of 18 feet, was hollow— four fingers thick—and had a bronze capital on top of it. One capital, encircled by bronze grating and pomegranates, stood 7½ feet high. The second pillar was the same, with pomegranates.Each capital had ninety-six pomegranates all around it. All the pomegranates around the grating numbered one hundred.

Instead, turn to the place the LORD your God chooses from all your tribes to put his name for his dwelling and go there.

“ Micah the Moreshite prophesied in the days of King Hezekiah of Judah and said to all the people of Judah,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become ruins, and the temple’s mountain will be a high thicket.’

He appointed his beautiful ornaments for majesty, but they made their detestable images from them, their abhorrent things. Therefore, I have made these into something filthy to them.I will hand these things over to foreigners as plunder and to the wicked of the earth as spoil, and they will profane them.I will turn my face from them as they profane my treasured place. Violent men will enter it and profane it.

Our holy and beautiful temple, where our ancestors praised you, has been burned down, and all that was dear to us lies in ruins.

How the gold has become tarnished, the fine gold become dull! The stones of the temple lie scattered at the head of every street.

He took everything to Babylon— all the articles of God’s temple, large and small, the treasures of the LORD’s temple, and the treasures of the king and his officials.Then the Chaldeans burned God’s temple. They tore down Jerusalem’s wall, burned all its palaces, and destroyed all its valuable articles.

Her leaders issue rulings for a bribe, her priests teach for payment, and her prophets practice divination for silver. Yet they lean on the LORD, saying,“ Isn’t the LORD among us? No disaster will overtake us.”Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become ruins, and the temple’s mountain will be a high thicket.

then smashing all the carvings with hatchets and picks.They set your sanctuary on fire; they utterly desecrated the dwelling place of your name.They said in their hearts,“ Let’s oppress them relentlessly.” They burned every place throughout the land where God met with us.

So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and each man fled to his tent. The slaughter was severe— thirty thousand of the Israelite foot soldiers fell.The ark of God was captured, and Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

I will cut off Israel from the land I gave them, and I will reject the temple I have sanctified for my name. Israel will become an object of scorn and ridicule among all the peoples.Though this temple is now exalted, everyone who passes by will be appalled and will scoff. They will say,“ Why did the LORD do this to this land and this temple?”

They also presented false witnesses who said,“ This man never stops speaking against this holy place and the law.For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

Say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to desecrate my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the desire of your heart. Also, the sons and daughters you left behind will fall by the sword.

I will make this temple like Shiloh. I will make this city an example for cursing for all the nations of the earth.’”The priests, the prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the temple of the LORD.When he finished the address the LORD had commanded him to deliver to all the people, immediately the priests, the prophets, and all the people took hold of him, yelling,“ You must surely die!How dare you prophesy in the name of the LORD,‘ This temple will become like Shiloh and this city will become an uninhabited ruin’!” Then all the people crowded around Jeremiah at the LORD’s temple.

As for this temple, which was exalted, everyone who passes by will be appalled and will say,“ Why did the LORD do this to this land and this temple?”

“‘ But return to my place that was at Shiloh, where I made my name dwell at first. See what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel.

The Lord has rejected his altar, repudiated his sanctuary; he has handed the walls of her palaces over to the enemy. They have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed festival.
