你們當傳給列國，報告攻擊耶路撒冷的事說：有探望的人從遠方來到，向猶大的城邑大聲吶喊。他們周圍攻擊耶路撒冷，好像看守田園的，因為她背叛了我。這是耶和華說的。

耶和華使迦勒底軍、亞蘭軍、摩押軍，和亞捫人的軍來攻擊約雅敬，毀滅猶大，正如耶和華藉他僕人眾先知所說的。

猶大王西底家第九年十月，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領全軍來圍困耶路撒冷。西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。耶路撒冷被攻取的時候，巴比倫王的首領尼甲‧沙利薛、三甲‧尼波、撒西金－拉撒力、尼甲‧沙利薛－拉墨，並巴比倫王其餘的一切首領都來坐在中門。

那時，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的軍兵上到耶路撒冷，圍困城。當他軍兵圍困城的時候，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒就親自來了。猶大王約雅斤和他母親、臣僕、首領、太監一同出城，投降巴比倫王；巴比倫王便拿住他。那時是巴比倫王第八年。
