“ The nations say,‘ We would have healed Babylon. But it can’t be healed. So let’s leave it. Let’s each go to our own land. Babylon’s sins reach all the way to the skies. They rise up as high as the heavens.’

人們都投奔親族，逃回故鄉，好像被追趕的鹿，又如走散的羊。

你們要剷除在巴比倫撒種的和收割的。為躲避敵人的刀劍，人們各自逃到故土親族那裡。

因為她已經罪惡滔天，上帝沒有忘記她一切的不義。

使他們跌跌絆絆，紛紛倒下。他們說，『起來，我們回到同胞那裡，回到故鄉吧，好躲避敵人的刀劍。』

說：「我的上帝啊，我羞愧難當，不敢抬頭看你，因為我們的惡行滅頂，我們的罪惡滔天。

撒瑪利亞有一位耶和華的先知名叫俄德，他出城去迎接班師回來的軍隊，說：「看啊，你們祖先的上帝耶和華向猶大發怒，才將他們交在你們手中。你們竟怒氣衝天，對他們大加殺戮。

你自幼交往的占星家幫不上你，他們都四散奔逃，無人救你。

他們說：「麥收已完，夏季已過，但我們還未得救。」

你夢見的樹蒼勁有力，高可參天，從地極都能看見。它的葉子美麗，果實纍纍，可作眾生的食物。野獸住在它的蔭下，飛鳥宿在它的枝頭。王啊，這蒼勁有力的樹就是你，你的威名高達穹蒼，你的權柄延至地極。

「當糊塗的伴娘去買油的時候，新郎來了。那些預備好的伴娘跟他一同進去參加婚宴，門就關了。後來，其他伴娘回來了，喊道，『主啊！主啊！請給我們開門吧！』「新郎卻說，『我實在告訴你們，我不認識你們。』「所以，你們要警醒，因為你們不知道我回來的日子和時辰。

埃及的傭兵好像肥牛犢，都轉身逃之夭夭，無力抵擋，因為他們遭難、受罰的日子到了。
