Behold, your troops are women in your midst. The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has devoured your bars.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; he has ruined and broken her bars; her king and princes are among the nations; the law is no more, and her prophets find no vision from the Lord.

A sword against the diviners, that they may become fools! A sword against her warriors, that they may be destroyed!A sword against her horses and against her chariots, and against all the foreign troops in her midst, that they may become women! A sword against all her treasures, that they may be plundered!

Therefore all hands will be feeble, and every human heart will melt.They will be dismayed: pangs and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at one another; their faces will be aflame.

The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women, and tremble with fear before the hand that the Lord of hosts shakes over them.

For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you.

I will make drunk her officials and her wise men, her governors, her commanders, and her warriors; they shall sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake, declares the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.
