歌篾的儿子是亚实基拿、利法、陀迦玛。

七月十七日，方舟停在亚拉腊山上。

“你们要在列国中传扬和宣告，要竖起旗帜宣扬，不可隐瞒，说：‘巴比伦被攻取了！彼勒蒙羞，米罗达惊慌；巴比伦的神像都蒙羞，它的偶像都惊慌。’

因为许多国家和大君王将要奴役迦勒底人，我必按着他们的作为和他们手所作的报应他们。”

你们要竖起旗帜，攻击巴比伦的城墙，并要加强防卫，设立防哨，布下埋伏；因为耶和华不但定意，也必作成他攻击巴比伦居民的话。

你要在光秃的山上竖起旗帜，向众人扬声挥手，叫他们进入权贵的门。我向我特选的军兵下了命令；我也呼召了我的勇士，就是我那些骄傲自夸的人，去执行我在怒气中所要作的。听啊！山上有喧哗的声音，好像是众多的人民；听啊！有多国的人的嘈杂声，好像是列国聚集在一起。万军之耶和华正在数点军兵，预备打仗。他们从远地而来，从天边而来。就是耶和华和他恼怒的工具，要毁灭这全地。

歌篾的儿子是亚实基拿、低法、陀迦玛。

“看哪！有一个民族从北方而来，有一大国和许多君王被激动，从地极来到。他们紧握弓和枪，性情残忍，毫无怜悯；他们的声音像海洋怒吼；巴比伦的居民哪！他们骑着战马，在战场上如同一人，列阵攻击你们。

蝗虫的形象，好像是预备好了要上阵的战马一样。它们头上戴的好像金冠冕，脸像人的面孔，它们的头发好像女人的头发，牙齿好像狮子的牙齿；它们的胸甲像铁甲，它们翅膀的声音好像许多马车奔驰上阵的声音。它们好像蝎子一样有尾巴和毒刺，它们的尾巴能伤害人五个月。它们有无底坑的使者作王统治它们。这王的名字，希伯来话叫阿巴顿，希腊话叫阿波伦。

万军之耶和华指着自己起誓，说：“我必使敌人充满你，像蝗虫一样布满你的全地，他们必对你发出胜利的吶喊。”

世上所有的居民，住在全地上的人哪！山上竖起旗帜的时候，你们要注意；号角吹响的时候，你们要聆听。

他们要砍伐它的森林。这是耶和华的宣告；它的森林虽然茂密难以通过，但敌人比蝗虫还多，无法数算。

一日，他正在他的神亚斯洛的庙中叩拜的时候，亚得米勒和沙利色用刀刺杀了他，然后逃到亚拉腊地。他的儿子以撒哈顿接续他作王。

城中如果吹起号角，居民怎会不惊慌呢？灾祸如果临到某城，不是耶和华所降的吗？

因为他们带着牲畜和帐棚上来，像蝗虫那么多；他们来的人和骆驼无数，进入境内，毁坏全地。

“便雅悯人哪！赶快逃命，离开耶路撒冷。你们要在提哥亚吹角，在伯．哈基琳升烽火；因为灾祸和严重的毁灭，已从北方迫近。

因为我必招聚列国与耶路撒冷作战，城必被占领，房屋被抢掠，妇女被强奸。城中的居民必有半数被掳去，剩下的人民必不会从这城里被剪除。

那日是黑暗幽冥的日子，是密云漆黑的日子。有一队众多强盛的民来到，好像晨光满布群山；这样的事从前没有发生过，以后直到万代，也不会发生。在他们前面有吞灭的火，在他们后面有燃烧的火焰；他们未到以前，大地像伊甸园，他们过去以后，大地成了荒凉的旷野，没有一样能逃避他们的。

在那里火要烧灭你，刀剑要除灭你，吞吃你，好像吞吃蚱蜢一样，你只管增多如蚱蜢，加添像蝗虫，你增加了你的商人，多过天上的星辰。蚱蜢退了壳，就飞去了。你的领袖多如蝗虫，你的军长像一群群的蚂蚱；天凉的时候，停留在篱笆上；太阳一出，就都飞走了；没有人知道它们在什么地方。
