大邦之民、必率群眾、來自北方、攻巴比倫、列行伍、取邑垣、若善戰者、矢不虛發、我使之然。

耶和華曰、大邦之民、勃然而興、來從北方、至自地極。執弓持戟、殘忍不慈、聲若海濤、乘馬列陳、以戰郇邑。

張旌斾於童山、號召厥眾、招之以手、俾進民牧之門、主有傑士、召為執事、以洩其憤、莫不踴躍、樂奏其能。萬有之主耶和華、核數軍實、使臨戰鬥、岡巒之上、國民和集、威聲遠振。耶和華赫然震怒、爰整其旅、以滅斯土、來自遠方、至從地極。

今耶和華震怒、欲滅巴比倫、為其殿宇雪忿、故慫慂米太王、以攻爾邑、爾雖礪鏃執盾、邑垣建旆、戍樓鞏固、命戍稽察、設伏防禦、終歸無益、蓋我耶和華昔言降災巴比倫、今已有應。

主使米太人擊爾、雖饋以金銀、彼不納焉、以弓撻少壯、不恤孩提、不憫孕字。

又爾所見之獸、與其十角、將惡淫婦、使之貧乏裸裎食其肉、爇之以火、

當立旌旆、告於列邦、播傳毋隱、曰、巴比倫已陷、巴勒抱愧、米羅達已折、諸偶像已毀。民自北至、攻巴比倫、人民群畜、刧掠一空、地變荒蕪、無人居處。

邦國眾多、列王顯赫、必使迦勒底人為其服役、視其所行、而加報施。

耶和華曰、我使狂風、攻擊巴比倫、以及違予之人、降災之日、我必遣人圍巴比倫、使其邦國空虛、若舉扇揮塵、
