As I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns,” declares the Lord,“ so no one will live there; no people will dwell in it.

I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. I also destroyed the towns that were near them,” announces the Lord.“ Babylon will be just like them. No one will live there. No human beings will stay there.

As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, so no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

當時，耶和華就使硫磺與火，從天上耶和華那裡降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉；把那些城和全平原，以及城中所有的居民，連地上生長的，都毀滅了。

以東必傾覆，像所多瑪、蛾摩拉，和它們的城鎮一樣（這是耶和華說的），必沒有人住在那裡，也必沒有人在那裡寄居。

神判定了所多瑪、蛾摩拉二城的罪，把它們傾覆，燒成灰燼，作為後世不敬虔的人的鑒戒；

又像所多瑪、蛾摩拉和周圍城市的人，與他們一樣的淫亂，隨從逆性的情慾，以致遭受永火的刑罰，成了後世的鑒戒。

在羅得的時代也是這樣，人們吃喝買賣，耕種建造，直到羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅掉。人子顯現的日子也是這樣。

巴比倫本是列國中的華美，是迦勒底人引以為傲的榮耀，必像神傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣。那地必永遠沒有居民，世世代代無人居住；阿拉伯人不在那裡搭帳幕；牧羊人也不領羊群躺臥在那裡。

因此，萬軍之耶和華以色列的神說：“我指著我的永生起誓：摩押人必要像所多瑪，亞捫人必定像蛾摩拉，成為刺草和鹽坑之所，永遠荒涼之地。我餘下的子民必擄掠他們，我國中所餘的要得著他們為業。”

又看見了遍地有硫磺，有鹽鹵，有火燒，沒有播種，沒有出產，寸草不生，好像耶和華在烈怒和怒火中毀滅的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，

他們的屍首要倒在大城的街道上。這城按著寓意叫所多瑪，又叫埃及，就是他們的主被釘十字架的地方。

“以法蓮啊，我怎能捨棄你！以色列啊，我怎能把你交出來！我怎能對你如同押瑪，待你好像洗扁呢！我的心腸翻轉，我的憐憫發動。我必不讓我的烈怒發作，必不再毀滅以法蓮；因為我是神，不是世人；我是你們中間的聖者，必不會含怒而來。

因此，在一日之內她的災難必然來到，就是死亡、悲哀和饑荒；她還要在火中被燒掉，因為審判她的主神是大有能力的。“地上的眾王，就是跟她一同行邪淫、驕奢無度的，看見焚燒她的煙的時候，就必為她痛哭捶胸。

若不是萬軍之耶和華給我們留下一些生還者，我們早已像所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣了。

“人必不從你那裡取石頭作房角石，也不從你那裡取石頭作基石，因為你必永遠荒涼。”這是耶和華的宣告。

“我傾覆你們，就像傾覆所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根木柴，從火裡抽出來；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。
