As I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns,” declares the Lord,“ so no one will live there; no people will dwell in it.

I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. I also destroyed the towns that were near them,” announces the Lord.“ Babylon will be just like them. No one will live there. No human beings will stay there.

又像羅得的時代，人們吃喝、做買賣、耕地、蓋房。在羅得離開所多瑪那天，烈火和硫磺從天而降，把他們全毀滅了。「人子顯現之日的情形也是如此。

巴比倫在列國中輝煌無比，是迦勒底人的榮耀，但上帝必毀滅她，好像毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣。那裡必人煙絕跡，世世代代無人居住，沒有阿拉伯人在那裡支搭帳篷，也無人牧放羊群。

遍地將是硫磺和鹽，無法耕種，寸草不生，如同耶和華盛怒之下毀滅的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪和洗扁。

他們便陳屍在大城的街上，這大城按寓意名叫所多瑪，又名埃及，是他們的主被釘在十字架上的地方。

以法蓮啊，我怎能捨棄你？以色列啊，我怎能棄絕你？我怎能使你的下場如押瑪？我怎能對待你如對待洗扁？我的心意改變，我滿懷憐愛。我不再發烈怒，也不再毀滅以法蓮。因為我是上帝，不是世人，是住在你們中間的聖者，我必不帶著烈怒來臨。

所以在一天之內，她的災禍，就是死亡、哀傷和饑荒要同時臨到她身上。她要被火燒盡，因為審判她的主上帝能力偉大。「那些曾與她通姦享樂的君王目睹焚燒她的煙，必為她哭泣哀號。

若不是萬軍之耶和華讓我們一些人存活，我們早就像所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣滅亡了。

再無人用你的石頭做房角石或基石，你要永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

「我在你們中間施行毀滅，如從前毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣，使你們像從火裡抽出的一根柴。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。
