生养你们的母亲巴比伦将羞愧难当，蒙受耻辱，排在列国之末，沦为干旱的荒漠。

你们的母巴比伦就极其抱愧，生你们的必然蒙羞。他要列在诸国之末，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠。

你们的母亲极其抱愧，生你们的必然蒙羞。看哪，她要列在诸国之末，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠；

然而你們的母卻要極慚愧，生你們的必蒙羞辱。看吧，她必列在諸國之末，成為曠野、旱地、草原。

爾母必蒙羞、生爾者必抱愧、為列國之末、亦為曠野、燥土沙漠、

今巴比倫抱愧、大邑含羞、其地終為邱墟、有若沙漠。

爾母恥甚、生爾者含羞、列國結局、終必荒蕪、為旱乾之地、成為沙漠、

your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations— a wilderness, a dry land, a desert.

Because of that, you will bring great shame on your land. Your whole nation will be dishonored. It will become the least important of the nations. It will become a dry and empty desert.

your mother shall be utterly shamed, and she who bore you shall be disgraced. Behold, she shall be the last of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

But your homeland will be overwhelmed with shame and disgrace. You will become the least of nations— a wilderness, a dry and desolate land.

But Babylonia will be put to great shame. The land where you were born will be disgraced. Indeed, Babylonia will become the least important of all nations. It will become a dry and barren desert.

她的城邑沦为干旱的荒漠，杳无人迹。

那天上的耶路撒冷则是自由的，是我们的母亲。

这时，有一位大力天使举起一块像大磨石的石头扔进海里，说：“巴比伦大城也必这样被用力扔下去，消失得无影无踪。在你那里，再也听不见弹琴作乐、鸣笛吹号的声音了，再也找不到能工巧匠了，再也听不到推磨的声音了，再也看不到闪耀的灯光了，再也听不见新婚夫妇的欢笑声了。因为你的商人曾经趾高气扬，你的邪术曾经迷惑万国，

在她额上还写了一个神秘的名号：“大巴比伦——地上淫妇及可憎事物之母”。

“毁灭天下的大山——巴比伦啊，我与你为敌，我要伸手攻击你，把你从悬崖上滚下去，使你化为灰烬。这是耶和华说的。再无人用你的石头做房角石或基石，你要永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

北方诸王——无论远近、一个接一个，以及天下万国，最后是巴比伦王。

并且要说，‘耶和华啊！你曾说要毁灭这地方，使这里人兽绝迹、永远荒凉。’读完后，你要把卷轴绑在一块石头上，扔进幼发拉底河，然后说，‘耶和华降的灾祸必使巴比伦像这卷轴一样沉没、永不复兴，巴比伦人必灭亡。’”耶利米的话到此为止。

那里必人烟绝迹，世世代代无人居住，没有阿拉伯人在那里支搭帐篷，也无人牧放羊群。那里躺卧着旷野的走兽，咆哮的猛兽占满房屋；鸵鸟住在那里，野山羊在那里跳跃嬉戏。豺狼在城楼上嚎叫，野狗在宫殿里狂吠。巴比伦的结局近了，它的时候不多了！

看看迦勒底人的土地，那里已杳无人烟！亚述人使它成为野兽出没之地，他们筑起围城的高台，摧毁它的宫殿，使它沦为废墟。

万军之耶和华说：“我必攻击巴比伦，铲除巴比伦的名号、余民和后裔。这是耶和华说的。

七十年后，我要报应巴比伦王和他国民迦勒底人的罪，使他们的土地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“看啊，时候将到，我要使亚扪人的拉巴城外响起战争的呐喊。拉巴必沦为废墟，它周围的乡村都要被焚烧，以色列人必收复失地。这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“敌人要攻击巴比伦的居民及其首领和谋士；敌人要攻击巴比伦的假先知，使他们显出愚昧；敌人要攻击巴比伦的勇士，使他们充满恐惧；敌人要攻击巴比伦人的战车战马和他们的盟军，使他们柔弱得像妇女；敌人要攻打他们的库房，肆意抢夺他们的财宝。旱灾必临到巴比伦，使那里的河流干涸，因为那里偶像遍地，人们都沉迷于祭拜神像。“因此，巴比伦必杳无人烟，永远荒凉，成为豺狼等野兽出没之地、鸵鸟的栖身之所。上帝要毁灭巴比伦，像毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉及其周围的城邑一样，使那里人烟绝迹。这是耶和华说的。
