LORD, I know you look for faithfulness. But even when you punish these people, they feel no remorse. Even when you nearly destroy them, they refuse to be corrected. They have become as hardheaded as a rock. They refuse to change their ways.

O Yahweh, don’t your eyes look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.

“我責打你們的兒女也是沒用，因為他們不受管教。你們的刀劍，像滅命的獅子吞噬你們的先知。

耶和華的眼目遍察全地，一心歸向他的，他必以大能扶助他們；你作這事太愚昧了。從今以後，你必常有戰爭。”

然而，你要對他們說：‘這就是不聽從耶和華他們神的話，不受管教的國；誠實喪盡，並已從他們的口中斷絕了。

我說：“她定要敬畏我，接受管教。”這樣，她的住所必不會照著我原定對她的懲罰被剪除。可是他們殷勤行惡，敗壞了自己一切所作的。

這人民還沒有回轉、歸向那擊打他們的萬軍之耶和華，也沒有尋求他。

以色列家卻不肯聽從你，因為他們不肯聽從我，整個以色列家都是額堅心硬的。看哪！我要使你的臉像他們的臉一樣堅硬，使你的前額像他們的前額一樣堅硬。我要使你的額好像最堅硬的寶石，比火石更硬。他們雖然是叛逆的民族，你卻不要怕他們，在他們面前，也不要驚惶。”

這叛逆、污穢、欺壓人的城有禍了！她不聽話，也不受管教；她不倚靠耶和華，也不親近她的神。

耶和華在他的聖殿裡，耶和華的寶座在天上，他的眼睛觀看，他的目光察驗世人。耶和華試驗義人和惡人，他的心恨惡喜愛強暴的人。耶和華必使火炭落在惡人身上，烈火、硫磺和旱風是他們杯中的分。因為耶和華是公義的，他喜愛公義的行為，正直的人必得見他的面。

但他們不肯聽從，反而硬著頸項，充耳不聞（“反而硬著頸項，充耳不聞”直譯是“轉着固執的肩膊，使自己的耳朵發沉不聽”）。他們使自己的心剛硬如金鋼石，不肯聽從律法和萬軍之耶和華藉著他的靈、透過從前的先知所說的話。因此，萬軍之耶和華非常忿怒。

還是你藐視神豐富的恩慈、寬容和忍耐，不曉得他的恩慈是要領你悔改的嗎？可是你一直硬著心腸，不肯悔改，為自己積蓄神的忿怒，就是他彰顯公義審判的那天所要發的忿怒。

惡人厚顏無恥，正直人卻堅定他的道路。

你們（“你們”原文作“他們”）卻沒有聽從，毫不留心，反倒硬著頸項行惡，比你們（“你們”原文作“他們”）的列祖還厲害。

因為我知道你是頑固的，你的頸項是鐵的，你的額是銅的，

你雖然用杵把愚妄人與碎穀一同搗在臼中，他的愚妄還是離不了他。

“萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘看哪！我必使我宣告攻擊這城的一切災禍，臨到這城和她附近的一切城鎮，因為他們硬著頸項，不聽從我的話。’”

這亞哈斯王在急難的時候，竟越發冒犯耶和華。

你們為甚麼屢次悖逆，還要受責打嗎？你們整個頭都受了傷，整個心都發昏了。從腳掌到頭頂，沒有一處是完全的；盡是創傷、鞭痕和流血的傷口；沒有擠乾淨傷口，沒有包紮，也沒有用膏油滋潤。

還有，肉身的父親管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們；何況那萬靈的父，我們不是更要順服他而得生嗎？

我們知道，神必照著真理審判行這些事的人。

你必說：“人打我，我不痛；人鞭打我，我不曉得；我甚麼時候清醒？我還要再去尋酒。”

你的污穢就是淫蕩。我想要潔淨你，你卻不願意潔淨，所以你的污穢再不能得到潔淨，直等到我向你發的烈怒止息。

因此，他把他猛烈的怒氣和慘酷的戰爭，傾倒在他身上；這在他四周如火燒起來，他還不知道；把他燒著了，他也不放在心上。

耶和華的眼目護衛知識，卻傾覆奸詐人的話。

你的計劃偉大，你的作為滿有能力；你的眼睛睜開，察看世人一切所行的，要照著各人的行為，和各人所作的事應得的結果來報應各人。

看哪！你喜愛的是內心的誠實；在我內心的隱密處，你使我得智慧。
