The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them.”

今主論彼先知如是云、彼託我名預言、我未嘗遣之、彼曰、斯地必無鋒刃饑饉之災、彼先知必因鋒刃饑饉而滅、

爾言此、爾口之辭如狂風、將至何時、

我耶利米曰、哀哉、主天主歟、眾先知曾告斯民曰、爾必不見鋒刃、不遭饑饉、主必使爾於斯地永享平康、

彼眾曰、我儕不如設謀、坑害耶利米、攻之以詞、勿聽其所言、蓋祭司非失律法、智者非缺謀略、先知非無預言、

爾欲駁詰我言乎、或作爾但欲辯駁言語乎不知絕望之人、其言等乎飄風、

我一出言、則為哀慘之詞、所宣告、俱論敵人強暴刼奪之事、我傳主言、終日被人羞辱藐視、如我言、莫若不復題主、不復藉主名而言、則我中心如焚、如火藏於我骨中、我自煩勞、欲忍不能、我聞眾人之讒謗、我隨在驚惶、彼此相語必控我、素與我相交在我側者、亦云我儕盍誘之、或可勝之、以復我仇於其身、惟主祐我、若大力之勇士、故迫害我者、必顛蹶不能勝、因其不亨通、不亨通或作不明哲甚為愧怍、抱恥蒙羞、永不見忘、

昔巴比倫王取主殿之器皿、自斯處攜至巴比倫、二年之內、我必使之返斯土、

降罰之日速至、施報之日將臨、以色列人必知偽先知愚魯、自言感神者顛狂、皆因爾多犯罪惡、大懷怨恨、
