你们必从城墙的缺口出去，各人直往前行，投向哈门。’”这是耶和华说的。

因耶和华如此说：‘看哪，我要使你和你的众朋友惊吓；你们要亲眼看见他们倒在仇敌的刀下。我必将犹大人全都交在巴比伦王的手中，他要把他们掳到巴比伦去，用刀杀他们。

看哪，我必惊动他的心，他要听见风声就归回本地，在那里我必使他倒在刀下。’”

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见战车战马的声音，大军的声音，他们就彼此说：“看哪，这必是以色列王雇用赫人诸王和埃及诸王来攻击我们。”所以，在黄昏的时候他们起来逃跑，撇下帐棚、马、驴，把军营留在原处，只顾逃命。

恶人虽无人追赶也逃跑；义人却胆壮像狮子。

你兄弟遭难的日子，你不该瞪着眼看；犹大人被灭的日子，你不该幸灾乐祸；他们遭难的日子，你不该说狂傲的话。我子民遭灾的日子，你不该进他们的城门；他们遭灾的日子，你不该瞪着眼看他们受苦；他们遭灾的日子，你不该伸手抢他们的财物。他们遭难的日子，你不该站在岔路口剪除他们逃脱的人，你不该交出他们的幸存者。

对他们说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们了，并且我们也都惧怕你们。这地所有的居民在你们面前都融化了。

求你赐谋略，行公平，使你的影子在正午如黑夜，掩护逃亡的人，不泄露逃难者的行踪。

惊吓的声音常在他耳中；在平安时，毁灭者必临到他。
