Gaza will shave her head in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. You remnant on the plain, how long will you cut yourselves?

The people of Gaza will be so sad they will shave their heads. And Ashkelon’s people will be silent. You who remain on the plain, how long will you cut yourselves?

Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has perished. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourselves?

Gaza will be humiliated, its head shaved bald; Ashkelon will lie silent. You remnant from the Mediterranean coast, how long will you cut yourselves in mourning?

厥首盡髠、厥鬚盡薙、手受割、腰束麻、

雜族之人、烏斯諸王、非利士諸王、亞實基倫、迦薩、以革倫、及亞實突遺民、

有八十人、自示劍示羅撒瑪利亞來、咸薙鬚裂衣自割、手持素祭乳香、欲詣耶和華室、

爾其自髠、為爾所悅之子女而剪髮、首童若鷹、以其被虜而離爾焉、

故主耶和華曰、我必伸手於非利士人、絕基利提族、滅海濱之遺民、

勿為死者割肉、勿黥爾身、我乃耶和華也、

亞實基倫見之而恐懼、迦薩見之而痛苦、以革倫因絕望而蒙羞、迦薩王必淪喪、亞實基倫無人居處、外族將居於亞實突、我必絕非利士人之驕、除其口中之血、齒間可憎之物、彼將為我上帝之遺民、若猶大中之族長、以革倫若耶布斯人、

耶和華諭我曰、

彼眾上巴益、往底本、陟崇邱而啼哭、摩押人緣尼波與米底巴而號咷、盡髠其首、悉薙其鬚、

遂大聲而呼、以刃與戟自刺、迨及血流、循其常例、

祭司勿髠髮、勿薙鬚之四周、勿割肉、

迦薩必闃寂、亞實基倫必荒涼、亞實突亭午被逐、以革倫見拔、禍哉、海濱居民、基利提族也、非利士人之地迦南歟、耶和華有言責爾、將殲滅爾、至無居民、瀕海之區、將為草場、有牧人之廬、羣羊之牢、海濱將歸於猶大家之遺民、牧畜於彼、暮則臥於亞實基倫之室、蓋其上帝耶和華必眷顧之、而返其俘囚也、

耶和華曰、迦薩干罪、至三至四、我不挽回厥罰、以其盡虜人民、付於以東也、我必降火於迦薩城垣、燬其宮室、殲亞實突之居民、及亞實基倫之執杖者、反手以攻以革倫、非利士之遺民滅亡、主耶和華言之矣、○

以麻束身、遍體戰慄、面俱慚、首盡髠、

蓋殲滅非利士人之日至、必於推羅西頓絕其助者、耶和華必滅非利士人、即迦斐託島之遺民、

爾曹皆爾上帝耶和華之子、毋為死者割肉薙額、

猶大人又取迦薩、亞實基倫、以革倫、暨其四境、

恆於塚於山、日夜號呼、以石自傷、

法老未擊迦薩之先、耶和華論非利士人、諭先知耶利米之言、○
