駿馬奔馳、蹏聲隆隆、戰車疾趨、輪聲轟轟、聞者無不喪膽、為父者不暇回顧其子、

at the sound of the hooves of galloping steeds, at the noise of enemy chariots and the rumble of their wheels. Parents will not turn to help their children; their hands will hang limp.

They will weep when they hear galloping horses. They will weep at the noise of enemy chariots. They will weep at the rumble of their wheels. Parents will not even try to help their children. Their hands will not be able to help them.

At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stallions, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of their wheels, the fathers look not back to their children, so feeble are their hands,

At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong[ horses], at the rushing of his chariots,[ and at] the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to[ their] children for feebleness of hands;

Fathers will hear the hoofbeats of the enemies’ horses, the clatter of their chariots and the rumbling of their wheels. They will not turn back to save their children because they will be paralyzed with fear.

那時壯馬馳驅，踢跳，奔騰。

聽見從但那裏敵人的馬噴鼻氣，他的壯馬發嘶聲，全地就都震動；因為他們來吞滅這地和其上所有的，吞滅這城與其中的居民。

車輛在街上急行，在寬闊處奔來奔去，形狀如火把，飛跑如閃電。

馬的大力是你所賜的嗎？牠頸項上挓挲的騌是你給牠披上的嗎？是你叫牠跳躍像蝗蟲嗎？牠噴氣之威使人驚惶。牠在谷中刨地，自喜其力；牠出去迎接佩帶兵器的人。牠嗤笑可怕的事並不驚惶，也不因刀劍退回。箭袋和發亮的槍，並短槍在牠身上錚錚有聲。牠發猛烈的怒氣將地吞下；一聽角聲就不耐站立。角每發聲，牠說呵哈；牠從遠處聞着戰氣，又聽見軍長大發雷聲和兵丁吶喊。

野狗尚且把奶乳哺其子，我民的婦人倒成為殘忍，好像曠野的鴕鳥一般。吃奶孩子的舌頭因乾渴貼住上膛；孩童求餅，無人擘給他們。

因他的馬匹眾多，塵土揚起遮蔽你。他進入你的城門，好像人進入已有破口之城。那時，你的牆垣必因騎馬的和戰車、輜重車的響聲震動。他的馬蹄必踐踏你一切的街道；他必用刀殺戮你的居民。你堅固的柱子必倒在地上。

鞭聲響亮，車輪轟轟，馬匹踢跳，車輛奔騰，馬兵爭先，刀劍發光，槍矛閃爍，被殺的甚多，屍首成了大堆，屍骸無數，人碰着而跌倒，

你們中間，柔弱嬌嫩的人必惡眼看他弟兄和他懷中的妻，並他餘剩的兒女；甚至在你受仇敵圍困窘迫的城中，他要吃兒女的肉，不肯分一點給他的親人，因為他一無所剩。

馬匹上去吧！車輛急行吧！勇士，就是手拿盾牌的古實人和弗人，並拉弓的路德族，都出去吧！
