This is what the Lord says:“ See how the waters are rising in the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and everything in it, the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out; all who dwell in the land will wail

The Lord said,“ The armies of Babylon are like waters rising in the north. They will become a great flood. They will flow over the land and everything in it. They will flow over the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out. All those who live in the land will weep.

“ Thus says the Lord: Behold, waters are rising out of the north, and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who dwell in it. Men shall cry out, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.

This is what the Lord says:“ A flood is coming from the north to overflow the land. It will destroy the land and everything in it— cities and people alike. People will scream in terror, and everyone in the land will wail.

他们进入房子（“房子”或译：“庙宇”），又往底本，上到高处去哭泣，摩押人为尼波和米底巴哀号；各人头上都光秃，胡须剃净。他们在街上都腰束麻布；在房顶上，在广场上，各人都哀号，流泪痛哭。希实本和以利亚利都呼喊，他们的声音达到雅杂，因此摩押配带武器的人大声呼叫，各人的心都战兢。我的心为摩押哀号，它的逃民一直去到琐珥，如同一头三岁大的牝牛，要挣脱苦轭，他们登上鲁希的山坡，随走随哭，他们在何罗念的路上，发出灭亡的哀号。

耶和华对我说：“必有灾祸从北方发出，临到这地所有的居民。

愿天欢喜，愿地快乐；愿海和海中充满的，都翻腾响闹；

哀号的声音传遍了摩押四境，哀声直达以基莲，又传到比珥．以琳。

这样，人从日落之处必敬畏耶和华的名，从日出之地也必敬畏他的荣耀，因为他必像狭急的河流冲来，耶和华的气必向他催逼。

蛇在妇人后面，从口中吐出水来，好像江河一样，要把妇人冲去。地却帮助了那妇人，张开口，把从龙口中吐出来的河水吞了。

摩押的毁灭多么厉害，他们的哀号多么凄惨！摩押怎样蒙羞转背！这样摩押就成了它四围众人讥笑和惊骇的对象。”

从何罗念传出哀号的声音，说：‘荒凉了，大大毁灭了！’摩押毁灭了，它的孩童发出哀叫（“它的孩童发出哀叫”或参照《七十士译本》译作“哀叫之声直达琐珥”）。在上鲁希的路上，摩押人随走随哭；从何罗念下来的途中，听见他们因城被毁发出凄惨的哀号声。”

愿海和海中充满的，都翻腾响闹，愿世界和住在世上的也都发声；

以下是耶和华对耶利米先知所说的话，论到巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒要来攻打埃及地。

你们富有的人哪，应当为那将要临到你们的灾祸哭泣哀号。

如果我饿了，我也不用对你说；因为世界和其中所充满的，都是我的。

城门啊，要哀号！城镇啊，要呼叫！非利士全地啊，要战栗发软！因为有烟从北方来，在他的行伍中没有离队逃走的。

但是如果有人告诉你们：“这是献过祭的食物。”那么，为了那告诉你们的人，也为了良心的缘故，就不要吃。

但他必用泛滥的洪水，尽行毁灭尼尼微之地，把他的仇敌赶入黑暗之中。

耶和华说：“到那日，必有呼叫的声音从鱼门发出来，必有哀号从新区发出来，必有崩裂巨响从山间发出来。玛革提施的居民哪！你们要哀号，因为所有的商人都灭亡了；所有称银子的都被剪除了。

必有无数的军兵在他面前像洪水冲没，并且溃败；立约的君也必这样。

天使又对我说：“你所看见那淫妇坐着的众水，就是多种民族、群众、邦国，方言的人。

万军之主耶和华摸地，地就融化，住在地上的都要悲哀。这地必像尼罗河高涨，像埃及的大河退落。那在天上建立楼阁，在大地之上奠立穹苍；又吩咐海水，把海水倒在地上的；耶和华就是他的名。

拿着七碗的七位天使中，有一位来跟我讲话，说：“你来，我要把那坐在众水之上的大淫妇所要受的审判指示你。

我要以公平为准绳，以公义为线铊；冰雹必把谎言的遮蔽冲去，大水必漫过庇护所。”

因此我说：“要转开你们的眼，不要望着我，让我痛哭吧！不要因我人民的毁灭，而急急安慰我。”因为主万军之耶和华使“异象谷”有惊恐、践踏、混乱的日子：城墙被拆毁，哀声传到山上。

因为地和地上所充满的都是属于主的。

“快跑的跑不掉，勇士也不能逃脱；他们在北方、在幼发拉底河边，都绊跌仆倒。那像尼罗河上涨，像江河的水翻腾的是谁呢？埃及像尼罗河上涨，像江河的水翻腾；它说：‘我要上涨，淹盖大地；我要毁灭城镇和城里的居民。’
