王有軍旅、不得拯救、士有勇力、不能自護兮、雖有良駒、不能避害、雖有健馬、不能援人兮、

先知曰、今日萬有之主耶和華降災於敵、雪其夙忿、使之被戮於鋒刃、飲血若醉、蓋萬有之主耶和華在於北方、百辣河濱、大行誅殛。

耶和華曰、禍必自北、臨斯民矣。

維彼眾人、必躓而顛、被陷害、遭糜爛、

我必使我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、率北方之眾、攻斯土之民、及四周鄰國、滅之殆盡、使見之者駭愕、皆作怨聲。

維馬有力、人能疾趨、主不以為悅兮、敬畏耶和華、賴其仁慈者、則可見悅於主兮。

我又遍覽天下事、疾趨未必先至、勁旅未必獲捷、有智未必得餱糧、聰明未必得貨財、機巧未必沐恩寵、凡百之事、悉由偶然而至。

惟耶和華威武可畏、左右余躬、窘逐我者、必遭躓蹶、永不亨通、懷羞抱愧、歷世莫掩其醜。

禍自北至、毀傷特甚、爾便雅憫子孫、宜和集、出耶路撒冷、在提哥亞吹角、在伯哈西林舉烽火、

立旌斾遙指郇岡、使人逃避於彼、毋稍遲延、我降大禍、來自北方、盡遭其毀。

大軍勁旅、及同盟之君、為其所滅、若洪水之淹物。

疾趨者不得避難、強勁者其力廢弛、有能者不能自救、執弓者不能禦敵、捷足者不得免禍、乘馬者不得救援、

群眾傾覆、自相蹂躪、曰、莫若旋師返國、不遭強者殺戮、

爾曰、必馳馬以前驅、主必使爾猝然以避敵、爾又曰、必乘馬而疾馳、主必使追爾者、馳騁而至、有一人以驅逐、則爾之千軍皆遁、有五人以追襲、則爾之全師俱奔、即有孑遺、如山巔孤竹、如嶺上單旌。

作惡者流、為予仇敵、欲噬我肉、今蹶其趾、淪胥以亡兮、

驕者將顛躓、無人扶翼、我火其邑、四周焚燬。

主立於壇側、我觀之、聞其詞曰、擊柱頂、震門橛、俱當損毀、壓於眾首、眾之子孫、我必加誅戮、逃匿者無人、得免者無人、雖入陰府、我必取之、雖升天堂、我將降之、雖匿於加密之巔、我將搜而出之、雖藏於大海之底、我必使蛇嚙之、

耶和華助巴勒、使敗西西喇車騎及眾、悉潰亂焉。西西喇棄車、徒行而遁。巴勒追襲其後、至外邦之夏羅設、其諸軍旅殲滅以刃、靡有孑遺。當時夏朔王耶賓與基尼人希百家仍修舊好、故西西喇徒步及希百妻雅億之幕。雅億出迓、告之曰、我主毋畏、請止步履、以入我幕。既入、雅億覆之以衾。西西喇曰、我渴、請飲我勺水。遂啟革囊、以乳飲之、仍以衾覆。又曰、汝立於幕門、如有詢爾者、有人於此否、爾必曰、無之。西西喇憊甚而寢、時希百妻雅億取幕釘與椎、徐步而前、以釘貫首、在其鬢際、釘之於地、以致之死。
