耶和華說：“你是我的鐵鎚，作我的兵器；我用你們打碎列國，用你毀滅萬邦。我用你打碎戰馬和騎馬的，用你打碎戰車和坐戰車的。我用你打碎男人和婦女，用你打碎老年人和少年人，用你打碎少男和少女。我用你打碎牧人和他的羊群，用你打碎農夫和他的耕牛，用你打碎省長和總監。

為此我要痛哭哀號，赤膊光腳而行；又要哀號如豺狼，悲鳴像鴕鳥。

你藉著你的臣僕辱罵主；你又說：我率領我眾多的戰車上了群山的高峰，到了黎巴嫩極深之處。我砍伐其中高大的香柏樹和佳美的松樹；我去到極高之處，進入肥田般的樹林。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華在可怕的震撼聲中，把樹枝削去；身量高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。樹林中的密叢，他必用鐵器砍下；黎巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。

斧頭怎可以向用斧頭砍木的人自誇呢？鋸子怎可以向拉鋸的人自大呢？好比棍能揮動那舉起棍的，又好比杖舉起那不是木頭的。
