約西亞既潔殿宇、埃及王尼哥往百辣河、攻迦基密、約西亞禦之。尼哥遣使告約西亞曰、我與猶大王何與、我不攻爾、乃攻我敵、上帝命我亟行、我蒙上帝祐、爾勿攻我、恐自取戾。

我必使我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、率北方之眾、攻斯土之民、及四周鄰國、滅之殆盡、使見之者駭愕、皆作怨聲。
