This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, what I have built I am going to tear down, and what I have planted I am going to uproot, that is, all the people of the land.”

耶和華命我告爾曰、耶和華云、我所建者、必毀之、我所植者、必拔之、全地皆然、

惟我耶和華告爾、曰、昔予建造斯邦、加以栽植、後必殲滅、拔其根株、

主命我耶利米告爾巴錄曰、主如是云、我所建造、後我毀之、我所栽植、後我拔之、天下俱如是、

But the Lord has told me to say to you,‘ This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth.

But here is what the Lord has told me to say to you, Baruch.‘ The Lord says,“ I will destroy what I have built up. I will pull up by the roots what I have planted. I will do this throughout the earth.

Thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord: Behold, what I have built I am breaking down, and what I have planted I am plucking up— that is, the whole land.

“ Baruch, this is what the Lord says:‘ I will destroy this nation that I built. I will uproot what I planted.

“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

“ Thus you shall say to him,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Behold, what I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up, that is, this whole land.

Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says: What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold,[ that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

The LORD told Jeremiah,“ Tell Baruch,‘ The LORD says,“ I am about to tear down what I have built and to uproot what I have planted. I will do this throughout the whole earth.

“ You shall tell him, Yahweh says:‘ Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot it, to tear it down, or to destroy it;if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I planned to bring on it.Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will relent of the good with which I said that I would bless it.

And just as I have watched over them to uproot them, tear them down, ruin, destroy, and bring disaster on them, so I will watch over them to build and to plant them,” declares the Lord.

See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to tear down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant.”

You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it.You cleared the ground before it, And it took deep root and filled the land.The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its branches.It was sending out its branches to the sea And its shoots to the Euphrates River.Why have You broken down its hedges, So that all who pass that way pick its fruit?A boar from the forest eats it away, And whatever moves in the field feeds on it.God of armies, do turn back; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine,The shoot which Your right hand has planted, And of the son whom You have strengthened for Yourself.It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish from the rebuke of Your face.

The Lord of armies, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me by offering sacrifices to Baal.

So the Lord was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.Then the Lord said,“ I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For I am sorry that I have made them.”

He dug it all around, cleared it of stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it, And also carved out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones.“ And now, you inhabitants of Jerusalem and people of Judah, Judge between Me and My vineyard.What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground.I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned nor hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds not to rain on it.”For the vineyard of the Lord of armies is the house of Israel, And the people of Judah are His delightful plant. So He waited for justice, but behold, there was bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
