“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

But the Lord has told me to say to you,‘ This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth.

But here is what the Lord has told me to say to you, Baruch.‘ The Lord says,“ I will destroy what I have built up. I will pull up by the roots what I have planted. I will do this throughout the earth.

Thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord: Behold, what I have built I am breaking down, and what I have planted I am plucking up— that is, the whole land.

“ Baruch, this is what the Lord says:‘ I will destroy this nation that I built. I will uproot what I planted.

This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, what I have built I am going to tear down, and what I have planted I am going to uproot, that is, all the people of the land.”

“ Thus you shall say to him,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Behold, what I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up, that is, this whole land.

Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says: What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold,[ that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

The LORD told Jeremiah,“ Tell Baruch,‘ The LORD says,“ I am about to tear down what I have built and to uproot what I have planted. I will do this throughout the whole earth.

“ You shall tell him, Yahweh says:‘ Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

At one moment I might announce concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will uproot, tear down, and destroy it.However, if that nation about which I have made the announcement turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the disaster I had planned to do to it.At another time I might announce concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it.However, if it does what is evil in my sight by not listening to me, I will relent concerning the good I had said I would do to it.

Just as I watched over them to uproot and to tear them down, to demolish and to destroy, and to cause disaster, so will I watch over them to build and to plant them”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

See, I have appointed you today over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and plant.

You dug up a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.You cleared a place for it; it took root and filled the land.The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches.It sent out sprouts toward the Sea and shoots toward the River.Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its fruit?Boars from the forest tear at it and creatures of the field feed on it.Return, God of Armies. Look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine,the root your right hand planted, the son that you made strong for yourself.It was cut down and burned; they perish at the rebuke of your countenance.

“ The LORD of Armies who planted you has decreed disaster against you, because of the disaster the house of Israel and the house of Judah brought on themselves when they angered me by burning incense to Baal.”

the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved.Then the LORD said,“ I will wipe mankind, whom I created, off the face of the earth, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky— for I regret that I made them.”

He broke up the soil, cleared it of stones, and planted it with the finest vines. He built a tower in the middle of it and even dug out a winepress there. He expected it to yield good grapes, but it yielded worthless grapes.So now, residents of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.What more could I have done for my vineyard than I did? Why, when I expected a yield of good grapes, did it yield worthless grapes?Now I will tell you what I am about to do to my vineyard: I will remove its hedge, and it will be consumed; I will tear down its wall, and it will be trampled.I will make it a wasteland. It will not be pruned or weeded; thorns and briers will grow up. I will also give orders to the clouds that rain should not fall on it.For the vineyard of the LORD of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah, the plant he delighted in. He expected justice but saw injustice; he expected righteousness but heard cries of despair.
