Ishmael son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went. When he met them, he said,“ Come to Gedaliah son of Ahikam.”

Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, went out from Mizpah to meet them. He was weeping as he went. When he met them, he said,“ Come to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam.”

And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah came out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he came. As he met them, he said to them,“ Come in to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.”

Ishmael left Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went. When he reached them, he said,“ Oh, come and see what has happened to Gedaliah!”

Ishmael son of Nethaniah came out of Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he came. When he encountered them, he said,“ Come to Gedaliah son of Ahikam!”

Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah left Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went; and as he met them, he said to them,“ Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam!”

Now Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went along; and it happened as he met them that he said to them,“ Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam!”

And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.

第三天，看哪，有一人從掃羅的營裏出來，衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，到大衛面前伏地叩拜。大衛對他說：「你從哪裏來？」他說：「我從以色列的營裏逃來。」大衛又對他說：「事情怎麼樣？請你告訴我。」他說：「士兵從陣上逃跑，也有許多士兵仆倒死亡，掃羅和他兒子約拿單也死了。」大衛問報信的青年說：「你怎麼知道掃羅和他兒子約拿單死了呢？」報信的青年說：「我恰巧到基利波山，看哪，掃羅靠在自己的槍上，看哪，有戰車、騎兵緊緊地追他。他回頭看見我，就呼叫我。我說：『我在這裏。』他問我說：『你是甚麼人？』我說：『我是亞瑪力人。』他對我說：『請你站到我這裏來，把我殺死，因為我非常痛苦，只剩下一口氣。』我就站到他那裏，殺了他，因為我知道他一倒下就活不了。然後，我把他頭上的冠冕和臂上的鐲子拿到我主這裏來。」大衛就抓着自己的衣服，把衣服撕裂，所有跟隨他的人也都如此。他們為掃羅和他兒子約拿單，以及耶和華的百姓和以色列家的人悲哀哭泣，禁食到晚上，因為他們都倒在刀下。大衛問報信的青年說：「你是哪裏人？」他說：「我是一個寄居者的兒子，是亞瑪力人。」大衛對他說：「你動手殺害耶和華的受膏者，怎麼不畏懼呢？」大衛叫了一個僕人來，說：「來，殺了他！」僕人擊殺他，他就死了。大衛對他說：「你的血歸到你自己頭上，因為你親口作證控訴自己，說：『我殺了耶和華的受膏者。』」

火熱的嘴唇，邪惡的心，好像銀渣包在瓦器上。仇敵用嘴唇掩飾，心裏卻藏着詭詐；他用甜言蜜語，你不能相信他，因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的事。他雖用詭詐掩飾怨恨，他的邪惡必在集會中顯露。
