Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah,“ You shall not do this thing; for you speak falsely of Ishmael.”

But in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal offspring came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedaliah, so that he died, with the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.

Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.

While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.But Jesus said to him,“ Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”

They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
