I saw the earth, and, behold, it was waste and void, and the heavens, and they had no light.

I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone.

I looked at the earth. It didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. I looked at the sky. Its light was gone.

But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;

But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going out, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.

The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.Yahweh will roar from Zion, and thunder from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will shake; but Yahweh will be a refuge to his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.

There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and make its stars dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon won’t give its light.I will make all the bright lights of the sky dark over you, and set darkness on your land,” says the Lord Yahweh.

I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.

It will happen in that day,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.

The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently.The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.It will happen in that day that Yahweh will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and after many days they will be visited.Then the moon will be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem; and glory will be before his elders.

I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.
