“ I looked at the land and saw that it was an empty wasteland. I looked up at the sky, and its light had vanished.

先知说：“我观看地，不料，地是空虚混沌；我观看天，天也无光。

I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone.

I looked at the earth. It didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. I looked at the sky. Its light was gone.

I looked on the earth, and behold, it was without form and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light.

“ But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water.

Indeed the stars in the sky and their constellations no longer give out their light; the sun is darkened as soon as it rises, and the moon does not shine.

The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold their brightness.The LORD roars from Zion; from Jerusalem his voice bellows out. The heavens and the earth shake. But the LORD is a refuge for his people; he is a stronghold for the citizens of Israel.

“ And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

The earth quakes before them; the sky reverberates. The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine.

When I extinguish you, I will cover the sky; I will darken its stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not shine.I will darken all the lights in the sky over you, and I will darken your land, declares the sovereign LORD.

And I will perform wonders in the sky above and miraculous signs on the earth below, blood and fire and clouds of smoke.The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

At that time they will growl over their prey, it will sound like sea waves crashing against rocks. One will look out over the land and see the darkness of disaster, clouds will turn the light into darkness.

In that day,” says the sovereign LORD,“ I will make the sun set at noon, and make the earth dark in the middle of the day.

Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

I will produce portents both in the sky and on the earth– blood, fire, and columns of smoke.The sunlight will be turned to darkness and the moon to the color of blood, before the day of the LORD comes– that great and terrible day!

The earth is broken in pieces, the earth is ripped to shreds, the earth shakes violently.The earth will stagger around like a drunk; it will sway back and forth like a hut in a windstorm. Its sin will weigh it down, and it will fall and never get up again.At that time the LORD will punish the heavenly forces in the heavens and the earthly kings on the earth.They will be imprisoned in a pit, locked up in a prison, and after staying there for a long time, they will be punished.The full moon will be covered up, the bright sun will be darkened; for the LORD who commands armies will rule on Mount Zion in Jerusalem in the presence of his assembly, in majestic splendor.

I said,“ I will weep and mourn for the grasslands on the mountains, I will sing a mournful song for the pastures in the wilderness because they are so scorched no one travels through them. The sound of livestock is no longer heard there. Even the birds in the sky and the wild animals in the fields have fled and are gone.”
