In response to all this I said,“ Ah, Lord GOD, you have surely allowed the people of Judah and Jerusalem to be deceived by those who say,‘ You will be safe!’ But in fact a sword is already at our throats.”

我说：“哀哉！主耶和华啊，你真是大大地欺哄这百姓和耶路撒冷，说：‘你们必得平安。’其实刀剑害及性命了。”

我说：“哀哉！主耶和华啊，你真是大大欺哄这百姓和耶路撒冷，说：‘你们必得平安。’其实刀剑已经抵住喉咙了！”

我说：“哀哉！主耶和华啊，你真是大大欺哄这百姓和耶路撒冷，说：‘你们必得平安。’其实刀剑已经抵住喉咙了！”

我说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你完全欺骗了这群百姓和耶路撒冷人，因为你说，‘你们会安享太平。’其实剑锋已指着他们的咽喉了。”

于是我说：“噢！主耶和华啊！你真的欺骗了这人民，也欺骗了耶路撒冷，说：‘你们必平安无事’，其实刀剑已经架在颈项上了！”

我說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你真是大大地欺哄這百姓和耶路撒冷，說：『你們必得平安。』其實刀劍害及性命了。」

我說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你真是大大欺哄這百姓和耶路撒冷，說：『你們必得平安。』其實刀劍已經抵住喉嚨了！」

我說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你真是大大欺哄這百姓和耶路撒冷，說：『你們必得平安。』其實刀劍已經抵住喉嚨了！」

我說：「唉！主耶和華啊，你完全欺騙了這群百姓和耶路撒冷人，因為你說，『你們會安享太平。』其實劍鋒已指著他們的咽喉了。」

於是我說：“噢！主耶和華啊！你真的欺騙了這人民，也欺騙了耶路撒冷，說：‘你們必平安無事’，其實刀劍已經架在頸項上了！”

他們必說：「哀啊，主永恆主啊，你真是大大欺騙了這人民和耶路撒冷，說：「你們必得平安無事」；其實刀劍竟害及了他們的性命了。』

我曰、噫、主耶和華歟、爾欺斯民、及耶路撒冷甚矣、謂之曰、爾曹必獲安康、而刃乃害其命、

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、爾曾告耶路撒冷民曰、可得平康。今反飲刃、害及生命、言既不應、寧非欺予。

我耶利米曰、哀哉、主天主歟、主任人欺斯民及耶路撒冷人曰、爾曹必得平康、今反鋒刃害及生命矣、

Then I said,“ Alas, Sovereign Lord! How completely you have deceived this people and Jerusalem by saying,‘ You will have peace,’ when the sword is at our throats!”

Then I said,“ You are my Lord and King. You have completely tricked the people of Judah and Jerusalem! You have told them,‘ You will have peace and rest.’ But swords are pointed at our throats!”

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God, surely you have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying,‘ It shall be well with you,’ whereas the sword has reached their very life.”

Then I said,“ O Sovereign Lord, the people have been deceived by what you said, for you promised peace for Jerusalem. But the sword is held at their throats!”

I said,“ Oh no, Lord GOD, you have certainly deceived this people and Jerusalem, by announcing,‘ You will have peace,’ while a sword is at our throats.”

Then I said,“ Oh, Lord God! Surely You have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying,‘ You will have peace’; yet a sword touches the throat.”

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord GOD! Surely You have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, Saying,‘ You shall have peace,’ Whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”

Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the life.

I said,“ Oh no, Lord God, You have certainly deceived this people and Jerusalem, by announcing,‘ You will have peace,’ while a sword is at our throats.”

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord Yahweh! Surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying,‘ You will have peace;’ whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”

“ These people have denied what the LORD says. They have said,‘ That is not so! No harm will come to us. We will not experience war and famine.

Now, while I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I threw myself face down and cried out with a loud voice,“ Alas, sovereign LORD! You are completely wiping out the remnant of Israel!”

For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones,

I will shield this city and rescue it for the sake of my reputation and because of my promise to David my servant.”’”

They offer only superficial help for the hurt my dear people have suffered. They say,“ Everything will be all right!” But everything is not all right!

Why, LORD, do you make us stray from your ways, and make our minds stubborn so that we do not obey you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance!

For this time I will send all my plagues on your very self and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.

The LORD said,‘ Who will deceive Ahab, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?’ One said this and another that.Then a spirit stepped forward and stood before the LORD. He said,‘ I will deceive him.’ The LORD asked him,‘ How?’He replied,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ The LORD said,‘ Deceive and overpower him. Go out and do as you have proposed.’So now, look, the LORD has placed a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours; but the LORD has decreed disaster for you.”

‘ Oh, Lord GOD, you did indeed make heaven and earth by your mighty power and great strength. Nothing is too hard for you!

They say to the visionaries,“ See no more visions!” and to the seers,“ Don’t relate messages to us about what is right! Tell us nice things, relate deceptive messages.

The arrival of the lawless one will be by Satan’s working with all kinds of miracles and signs and false wonders,and with every kind of evil deception directed against those who are perishing, because they found no place in their hearts for the truth so as to be saved.Consequently God sends on them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false.And so all of them who have not believed the truth but have delighted in evil will be condemned.

“‘ As for the prophet, if he is made a fool by being deceived into speaking a prophetic word– I, the LORD, have made a fool of that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.They will bear their punishment; the punishment of the one who sought an oracle will be the same as the punishment of the prophet who gave it

Then I said,“ Oh, Lord GOD, look! The prophets are telling them that you said,‘ You will not experience war or suffer famine. I will give you lasting peace and prosperity in this land.’”Then the LORD said to me,“ Those prophets are prophesying lies while claiming my authority! I did not send them. I did not commission them. I did not speak to them. They are prophesying to these people false visions, worthless predictions, and the delusions of their own mind.

“ The way you have lived and the things you have done will bring this on you. This is the punishment you deserve, and it will be painful indeed. The pain will be so bad it will pierce your heart.”

I answered,“ Oh, Lord GOD, I really do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.”

They offer only superficial help for the harm my people have suffered. They say,‘ Everything will be all right!’ But everything is not all right!

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done.

The young boys and old men lie dead on the ground in the streets. My young women and my young men have fallen by the sword. You killed them when you were angry; you slaughtered them without mercy.ת( Tav)

They continually say to those who reject what the LORD has said,‘ Things will go well for you!’ They say to all those who follow the stubborn inclinations of their own hearts,‘ Nothing bad will happen to you!’

Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.
