When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled; they left the city at night by way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls, and headed toward the Arabah.

King Zedekiah and all the soldiers saw them. Then they ran away. They left the city at night. They went by way of the king’s garden. They went out through the gate between the two walls. And they headed toward the Arabah Valley.

When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled, going out of the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate between the two walls; and they went toward the Arabah.

When King Zedekiah of Judah and all the soldiers saw that the Babylonians had broken into the city, they fled. They waited for nightfall and then slipped through the gate between the two walls behind the king’s garden and headed toward the Jordan Valley.

When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled, and went out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.

王強厥志、築其頹垣、建樓於上、城外復築城、鞏固大衛城之米羅、多製器械干盾、

疾趨者不得避所、強壯者不得施力、剛勇者不能自救、

耶和華必使爾為敵所敗、爾攻之也由一途、爾逃之也由七途、拋棄於天下萬國之中、

爾之孑遺、處於敵國、必使其心頹敗、風吹葉落、聞聲而怖、彼之遁逃、若避鋒刃、即無追者、亦必顚仆、

於是穴城、戰士由附近王囿兩垣間之門夜遁、迦勒底人環城、王由亞拉巴道而走、迦勒底軍追之、及於耶利哥之平原、王軍潰散、迦勒底軍執王、解至利比拉、巴比倫王所、而審鞫之、戮其諸子、使之目睹、抉其兩目、縶之以鏈、攜至巴比倫、○

於是穴城、戰士由附近王囿、兩垣間之門出邑、夜遁、迦勒底人環城、眾向亞拉巴而走、迦勒底軍追王、及於耶利哥之平原、王軍潰散、迦勒底人執王、解至哈馬之利比拉、巴比倫王所、而審鞫之、巴比倫王戮西底家諸子、使之目睹、又在利比拉、戮猶大諸牧伯、抉西底家目、繫之以鏈、攜至巴比倫、下之於獄、迄於死日、○

主耶和華、以色列之聖者曰、爾之得救、在於回轉安處、爾之得力、在於寧靜信賴、惟爾不欲、爾曰、不然、我將乘馬而奔、故爾必奔、又曰、我乘迅疾之騎、故追爾者亦迅疾焉、

我必敵爾、使見擊於敵前、憾爾者將制爾、無人追襲、爾亦遁逃、

如爾不出降於巴比倫王之牧伯、是邑必付於迦勒底人手、焚之以火、爾亦不得脫於其手、西底家王謂耶利米曰、我恐迦勒底人、付我於投降之猶大人手、彼則侮我、耶利米曰、必不付爾、求爾循我所傳耶和華之命、爾則獲益、而存生命、

其中之君、將乘昏夜、負荷而出、彼必穿垣、由此移物、亦必蒙面、蓋彼不得見斯土也、

使其因饑而瘦、因熱而敗、因苦而滅、害於獸齒、傷於蟲毒、外遭鋒刃、內受驚惶、少男幼女、乳子白叟、淪胥以亡、我曰、將散之於遠方、絕其誌於人間、第恐敵人激我、仇人誤視、自謂我手力大、非耶和華所行、斯民無謀猷、中心無聰慧、願其有智、明乎此事、思厥終局、若非其磐石鬻之、耶和華付之、則敵一焉能驅千、二焉能逐萬、
