Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ If you surely surrender to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul shall live; this city shall not be burned with fire, and you and your house shall live.

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: If thou wilt go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thy house.

Jeremiah therefore said to Zedekiah,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says:‘ If indeed you surrender to the officials of the king of Babylon, then you will live, this city will not be burned down, and you and your household will survive.

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ If you will go out to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul will live, and this city will not be burned with fire. You will live, along with your house.

I told King Zedekiah of Judah the same thing. I said,“ Submit to the yoke of servitude to the king of Babylon. Be subject to him and his people. Then you will continue to live.

“ The LORD says,‘ Those who stay in this city will die in battle or of starvation or disease. Those who leave the city and surrender to the Babylonians will live. They will escape with their lives.’”

Do not listen to them. Be subject to the king of Babylon. Then you will continue to live. Why should this city be made a pile of rubble?’”

“ But tell the people of Jerusalem that the LORD says,‘ I will give you a choice between two courses of action. One will result in life; the other will result in death.Those who stay in this city will die in battle or of starvation or disease. Those who leave the city and surrender to the Babylonians who are besieging it will live. They will escape with their lives.For I, the LORD, say that I am determined not to deliver this city but to bring disaster on it.
