「耶和華－以色列的神如此說：猶大王打發你們來求問我，你們要如此對他說：『那出來幫助你們法老的軍隊必回埃及本國去。

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of me,‘ Pharaoh’s army, which has marched out to support you, will go back to its own land, to Egypt.

The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,“ The king of Judah has sent you to ask me for advice. Tell him,‘ Pharaoh’s army has marched out to help you. But it will go back to its own land. It will return to Egypt.

“ Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who sent you to me to inquire of me,‘ Behold, Pharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to return to Egypt, to its own land.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: The king of Judah sent you to ask me what is going to happen. Tell him,‘ Pharaoh’s army is about to return to Egypt, though he came here to help you.

“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: This is what you will say to Judah’s king, who is sending you to inquire of me:‘ Watch: Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ This is what you are to say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Thus you shall say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army which has come up to help you will return to Egypt, to their own land.

Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: This is what you will say to Judah’s king, who is sending you to inquire of Me: Watch: Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

“ The LORD God of Israel says,‘ Give a message to the king of Judah who sent you to ask me to help him. Tell him,“ The army of Pharaoh that was on its way to help you will go back home to Egypt.

“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.

我们望眼欲穿，盼望援军的到来，盼来的国家却无力拯救我们。

你们告诉差你们来求问耶和华的犹大王，至于你所听见的那些话，以色列的上帝耶和华说，

“请你为我们求问耶和华，因为巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来攻打我们，或许耶和华会像以往一样行神迹，使敌人撤军。”

西底迦王派示利米雅的儿子犹甲和玛西雅的儿子祭司西番雅来对耶利米先知说：“求你为我们向我们的上帝耶和华祷告。”

那些到埃及寻求帮助的人有祸了！他们仰赖战马，倚靠众多的战车和强壮的骑兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，不寻求耶和华。然而，耶和华有智慧，会降灾，从不收回自己的话。祂必惩罚恶人之家及其帮凶。埃及人不过是人，并非上帝；埃及的战马是血肉之躯，并非神灵。耶和华一伸手，那些帮凶必踉跄，受帮助的必跌倒，他们必一同灭亡。

敌人筑起围攻的土垒和高台大肆杀戮的时候，法老虽然兵强马壮，人多势众，仍无法帮他抗敌。

耶和华说：“信靠世人、倚靠血肉之躯、背叛耶和华的人该受咒诅！这样的人毫无福乐，像沙漠中的灌木。他要住在旷野中干旱无人的盐碱地。

你们为什么这样忽东忽西地变来变去呢？你们投奔埃及必蒙羞辱，就像从前投奔亚述一样。

“‘这样，所有的埃及人就知道我是耶和华，因为你不过是一根芦苇，以色列人无法依靠你。当他们用手握住你的时候，你就断裂，刺伤了他们的肩；当他们倚靠你的时候，你就折断，闪了他们的腰。

任何智慧、悟性和谋略，都不能对抗耶和华。

耶和华说：“我悖逆的儿女有祸了！他们不遵行我的旨意，按自己的计划行事；未经我同意，擅自与人结盟，不断犯罪。他们不求问我便去埃及，想得到法老的保护和荫庇。然而，法老的保护和荫庇必成为他们的耻辱。虽然他们的官长和使臣已到琐安和哈内斯，但他们必蒙羞，因为埃及人对他们毫无用处，没有任何帮助和益处，带给他们的只有羞愧和耻辱。”以下是关于南地动物的预言：他们的使臣用驴驮着财物，用骆驼驮着珍宝，穿过公狮、母狮、蝮蛇和飞蛇出没的艰险之地，前往一个对他们毫无用处的国家。

埃及不再是以色列人的指望，反而会使以色列人想起自己投靠埃及的罪。这样，他们便知道我是主耶和华。’”
