But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord that he spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

西底家行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，正如約雅敬一切所行的。因此，耶和華向耶路撒冷和猶大發怒，以致把他們從自己面前趕出去。西底家背叛巴比倫王。

君王若聽謊言，他一切臣僕都是奸惡。

他行耶和華－他神眼中看為惡的事，沒有謙卑聽從耶利米先知所傳達耶和華的話。尼布甲尼撒王曾叫他指着神起誓，他卻背叛，硬着頸項，內心頑固，不歸向耶和華－以色列的神。眾祭司長和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列國一切可憎的事，玷污耶和華在耶路撒冷分別為聖的殿。耶和華－他們列祖的神因為愛惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他們。他們卻嘲笑神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

就藉拿單先知賜他一個名字，叫耶底底亞；這是為了耶和華的緣故。

以色列眾人為他安葬，為他哀哭，正如耶和華藉他僕人亞希雅先知所說的話。

摩西說：「主啊，求求你，你要藉着誰的手，就差派誰去吧！」

於是，亞倫和他的兒子就做了耶和華藉着摩西所吩咐的一切事。

我已吩咐眾先知，又增加異象，藉先知設比喻。

耶和華的話臨到哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先知，責備巴沙和他的家，因他行耶和華眼中看為惡的一切事，以他手所做的惹耶和華發怒，像耶羅波安的家一樣，又因他殺了耶羅波安全家。

大衛說：「哈嫩的父親拿轄怎樣向我施恩，我也要怎樣向哈嫩施恩。」於是大衛派臣僕為他的父親安慰他。當大衛的臣僕到了亞捫人的境內，

藉愚昧人的手寄信的，就像砍斷雙腳，喝下殘暴。

你這褻瀆行惡的以色列王啊，你的日子，最後懲罰的時刻已來臨。

所以，那棄絕這教導的不是棄絕人，而是棄絕那把自己的聖靈賜給你們的神。
