Where are your prophets who prophesied to you,‘ The king of Babylon will not attack you or this land’?

Where are your prophets who prophesied to you? They said,‘ The king of Babylon won’t attack you. He won’t march into this land.’

Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying,‘ The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land’?

Where are your prophets now who told you the king of Babylon would not attack you or this land?

Where now are your prophets that prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?

Then Elisha said to the king of Israel,“ What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him,“ No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, If they can save you in the time of your trouble; For according to the number of your cities Are your gods, O Judah.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years.’” And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.Now the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,“ Go and tell Hananiah, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made in their place yokes of iron.”For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him. I have given him the beasts of the field also.”’”Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.Therefore thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the Lord.’”So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God! Behold, the prophets say to them,‘ You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’”And the Lord said to me,“ The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say,‘ sword and famine shall not be in this land’—‘ By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying,‘ Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.

And it happened in the same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,“ Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying:‘ I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.Within two full years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the LORD’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon,’ says the Lord,‘ for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the Lord,

“ Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace— and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar—say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down.Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you,‘ Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?’”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it.So I will break down the wall you have plastered with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered; it will fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.“ Thus will I accomplish My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it with untempered mortar; and I will say to you,‘ The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it,that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’” says the Lord God.

Your prophets have seen for you False and deceptive visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, To bring back your captives, But have envisioned for you false prophecies and delusions.

Therefore do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying,‘ You shall not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they prophesy a lie to you;for I have not sent them,” says the Lord,“ yet they prophesy a lie in My name, that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.”Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying,“ Behold, the vessels of the LORD’s house will now shortly be brought back from Babylon”; for they prophesy a lie to you.Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city be laid waste?But if they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, do not go to Babylon.’

They continually say to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You shall have peace”’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,‘ No evil shall come upon you.’”

They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying,‘ Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.

Send to all those in captivity, saying, Thus says the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, and I have not sent him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie—

“ For the Lord will judge His people And have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their power is gone, And there is no one remaining, bond or free.He will say:‘ Where are their gods, The rock in which they sought refuge?
