Then Jeremiah said to him,“ I’m not allowed to go to the Lord’ s temple.

Then Jeremiah told Baruch,“ I am restricted; I am not allowed to go to the Lord’s temple.

And Jeremiah ordered Baruch, saying,“ I am banned from going to the house of the Lord,

Then Jeremiah said to Baruch,“ I am a prisoner here and unable to go to the Temple.

Then Jeremiah commanded Baruch,“ I am restricted; I cannot enter the temple of the LORD,

Jeremiah then commanded Baruch, saying,“ I am restricted; I cannot go into the house of the Lord.

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying,“ I am confined, I cannot go into the house of the Lord.

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of Jehovah:

Then Jeremiah commanded Baruch,“ I am restricted; I cannot enter the temple of the Lord,

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I[ am] shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:

Then Jeremiah told Baruch,“ I am no longer allowed to go into the LORD’s temple.

Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying,“ I am restricted. I can’t go into Yahweh’s house.

The armies of the king of Babylon were getting ready to attack Jerusalem. Jeremiah the prophet was being held as a prisoner. He was kept in the courtyard of the guard. It was part of Judah’s royal palace.

Jeremiah was still being held as a prisoner. He was kept in the courtyard of the guard. Then another message from the Lord came to him. The Lord said,

Are they serving Christ? I am serving him even more. I’m out of my mind to talk like this! I have worked much harder. I have been in prison more often. I have suffered terrible beatings. Again and again I almost died.

So he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten. Then Pashhur put him in prison at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’ s temple.

I, Paul, am a prisoner because of Christ Jesus. I am in prison because of my work among you who are Gentiles.

Some were made fun of and even whipped. Some were held by chains. Some were put in prison.

But today I’m setting you free from the chains on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon if you want to. I’ll take good care of you there. But if you don’t want to come, then don’t. The whole country lies in front of you. Go anywhere you want to.”

They were angry with him. So they had him beaten. Then they took him to the house of Jonathan the secretary. It had been made into a prison. That’s where they put Jeremiah.

Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guard. He stayed there until the day Jerusalem was captured. Here is how Jerusalem was captured.

Because of the good news, I am being held by chains as the Lord’s messenger. So pray that I will be bold as I preach the good news. That’s what I should do.

I am suffering for it. I have even been put in chains like someone who has committed a crime. But God’s word is not held back by chains.

So they took Jeremiah and put him into an empty well. It belonged to Malkijah. He was a member of the royal court. His well was in the courtyard of the guard. Zedekiah’s men lowered Jeremiah by ropes into the well. It didn’t have any water in it. All it had was mud. And Jeremiah sank down into the mud.
