But Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, marched into this land. Then we said,‘ Come. We must go to Jerusalem. There we can escape the armies of Babylon and Aram.’ So we have remained in Jerusalem.”

But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said,‘ Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and the army of the Syrians.’ So we are living in Jerusalem.”

But when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked this country, we were afraid of the Babylonian and Syrian armies. So we decided to move to Jerusalem. That is why we are here.”

你們要在猶大傳揚，在耶路撒冷宣告，說：「當在國中吹角，高聲呼叫說：『你們當聚集！我們好進入堅固城！』應當向錫安豎立大旗。逃吧，不要遲延，因我必使災禍與大毀滅從北方來到。有獅子從密林中上來，是毀壞列國的。牠已動身出離本處，要使你的地荒涼，使你的城鎮變為廢墟，無人居住。

約雅敬的日子，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒上來；約雅敬服事他三年，以後又背叛他。耶和華派迦勒底、亞蘭、摩押和亞捫人的軍隊來攻擊約雅敬；耶和華派他們來攻擊猶大，要毀滅它，正如耶和華藉他僕人眾先知所說的話。

猶大王約雅敬在位第三年，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來到耶路撒冷，將城圍困。主將猶大王約雅敬和神殿中的一些器皿交在他的手中。他就把他們帶到示拿地他神明的廟裏，將器皿收入他神明的庫房中。

「當你們看見那『施行毀滅的褻瀆者』站在不當站的地方（讀這經的人要會意），那時，在猶太的，應當逃到山上；
