於是我對他們說：『你們若以為好，就給我工價；不然，也就罷了。』他們就稱了三十錠銀子、作為我的工價。永恆主吩咐我說：『要把人所給你估價的高貴價銀投入銀庫』。我便將那三十錠銀子投在永恆主殿中銀庫裏。

有些作生意的米甸人從那裏經過，哥哥們把約瑟從坑裏拉上來，把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人，賣二十錠銀子；以實瑪利人就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。

王從那裏經過，他向王哀叫說：『僕人出戰在戰陣之中、忽有人轉來，帶了一個人來交給我、說：「你看守這人；倘若遺失不見了，就要將你的性命去代替他的性命；不然，你就必須交出一擔銀子來。」

你們為甚麼花錢去買那不是食物的？為甚麼用你們勞碌得來的去買那不能使人飽足的呢？你們要注意聽我，就得以喫美物，心中以肥甘為樂趣。

王若以為好，就請寫下勅令殺滅他們；我就秤出一萬擔銀子，由管事人經手、運入王的府庫。』

我便用銀子十五舍客勒，大麥一賀梅珥、又大麥一勒特克買她歸我。

『我主請聽我；值四百舍客勒銀子的一塊田地，在你我之間、還算得了甚麼？你只管埋葬你死了的親人吧。』亞伯拉罕聽從了以弗崙；就平了銀子給以弗崙，就是他在赫人聽得到的地方所說的，平商人通用的銀子四百舍客勒。
