The LORD affirms,“ The descendants of Israel will not cease forever to be a nation in my sight. That could only happen if the fixed ordering of the heavenly lights were to cease to operate before me.”

曰、若此定例可廢於我前、則以色列裔亦可廢於我前、永不為國、

耶和華曰、如此定例可廢、則以色列族亦可為我所廢、不為邦國、歷世弗易。

倘此定例於我前可廢、則以色列族亦於我前可廢、永不為國、此乃主所言、

“ Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,” declares the Lord,“ will Israel ever cease being a nation before me.”

“ Suppose my orders for creation disappear from my sight,” announces the Lord.“ Only then will the people of Israel stop being a nation in my sight.”

“ If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the Lord, then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever.”

“ I am as likely to reject my people Israel as I am to abolish the laws of nature!”

If this fixed order departs from before me— this is the LORD’s declaration— only then will Israel’s descendants cease to be a nation before me forever.

“ If this fixed order departs From Me,” declares the Lord,“ Then the descendants of Israel also will cease To be a nation before Me forever.”

“ If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”

If these ordinances depart from before me, saith Jehovah, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

If this fixed order departs from My presence— this is the Lord’s declaration— then also Israel’s descendants will cease to be a nation before Me forever.

If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD,[ then] the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

“ If these ordinances depart from before me,” says Yahweh,“ then the offspring of Israel also will cease from being a nation before me forever.”

“ As far as I am concerned, this is like in Noah’s time, when I vowed that the waters of Noah’s flood would never again cover the earth. In the same way I have vowed that I will not be angry at you or shout at you.Even if the mountains are removed and the hills displaced, my devotion will not be removed from you, nor will my covenant of friendship be displaced,” says the LORD, the one who has compassion on you.

“ I, LORD, make the following promise:‘ I have made a covenant with the day and with the night that they will always come at their proper times. Only if you people could break that covenantcould my covenant with my servant David and my covenant with the Levites ever be broken. So David will by all means always have a descendant to occupy his throne as king and the Levites will by all means always have priests who will minister before me.I will make the children who follow one another in the line of my servant David very numerous. I will also make the Levites who minister before me very numerous. I will make them all as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sands which are on the seashore.’”The LORD spoke still further to Jeremiah.“ You have surely noticed what these people are saying, haven’t you? They are saying,‘ The LORD has rejected the two families of Israel and Judah that he chose.’ So they have little regard that my people will ever again be a nation.But I, the LORD, make the following promise: I have made a covenant governing the coming of day and night. I have established the fixed laws governing heaven and earth.Just as surely as I have done this, so surely will I never reject the descendants of Jacob. Nor will I ever refuse to choose one of my servant David’s descendants to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Indeed, I will restore them and show mercy to them.”

He established them so they would endure; he issued a decree that will not be revoked.

His dynasty will last forever. His throne will endure before me, like the sun,it will remain stable, like the moon, his throne will endure like the skies.”( Selah)

Look, the sovereign LORD is watching the sinful nation, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth. But I will not completely destroy the family of Jacob,” says the LORD.“ For look, I am giving a command and I will shake the family of Israel together with all the nations. It will resemble a sieve being shaken, when not even a pebble falls to the ground.

People will fear you as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation.

I, the LORD, tell you not to be afraid, you descendants of Jacob, my servant, for I am with you. Though I completely destroy all the nations where I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will indeed discipline you but only in due measure. I will not allow you to go entirely unpunished.”

The children of your servants will settle down here, and their descendants will live securely in your presence.”

“ I said,‘ I want to cut them in pieces. I want to make people forget they ever existed.

O LORD, your instructions endure; they stand secure in heaven.

May his fame endure! May his dynasty last as long as the sun remains in the sky! May they use his name when they formulate their blessings! May all nations consider him to be favored by God!
