非若昔與其祖所立之約、在我援手導彼出伊及地之時、我雖為其主、彼仍違背此約、或作昔我援手導其列祖出伊及之時與彼立約我雖為其主彼仍爽我約今所立之約必不若是此乃主所言、

He did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with all of us who are alive here today.

Moses took half the blood and set it in basins; the other half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you concerning all these words.”

Now if you will listen to Me and carefully keep My covenant, you will be My own possession out of all the peoples, although all the earth is Mine,

“ Then I passed by you and saw you, and you were indeed at the age for love. So I spread the edge of My garment over you and covered your nakedness. I pledged Myself to you, entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

That is why even the first covenant was inaugurated with blood.For when every command had been proclaimed by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll itself and all the people,saying, This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded for you.In the same way, he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the articles of worship with blood.According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

He who has the bride is the groom. But the groom’s friend, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly at the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine is complete.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”

“ For this is what the Lord God says: I will deal with you according to what you have done, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.But I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your older and younger sisters. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your covenant.I will establish My covenant with you, and you will know that I am Yahweh,

if you reject My statutes and despise My ordinances, and do not observe all My commands— and break My covenant,

“ Return, you faithless children”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ for I am your master, and I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

For I strongly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt until today, warning them time and time again,‘ Obey My voice.’Yet they would not obey or pay attention; each one followed the stubbornness of his evil heart. So I brought on them all the curses of this covenant, because they had not done what I commanded them to do.”The Lord said to me,“ A conspiracy has been discovered among the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem.They have returned to the sins of their ancestors who refused to obey My words and have followed other gods to worship them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah broke My covenant I made with their ancestors.

“ Go and announce directly to Jerusalem that this is what the Lord says: I remember the loyalty of your youth, your love as a bride— how you followed Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.

“ I will make you pass under the rod and will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

“ At that time”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be My people.”

When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.

At the end of seven years, each of you must free his Hebrew brother who sold himself to you. He may serve you six years, but then you must send him out free from you. But your ancestors did not obey Me or pay any attention.

He sent His glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand, divided the waters before them to obtain eternal fame for Himself,and led them through the depths like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble.Like cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord gave them rest. You led Your people this way to make a glorious name for Yourself.

The earth is polluted by its inhabitants, for they have transgressed teachings, overstepped decrees, and broken the everlasting covenant.

They will answer,‘ Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God and worshiped and served other gods.’”

For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy, because I have promised you in marriage to one husband— to present a pure virgin to Christ.

Rebuke your mother; rebuke her. For she is not My wife and I am not her husband. Let her remove the promiscuous look from her face and her adultery from between her breasts.

The older one was named Oholah, and her sister was Oholibah. They became Mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah represents Samaria and Oholibah represents Jerusalem.

The Lord said to Moses,“ You are about to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon commit adultery with the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will abandon Me and break the covenant I have made with them.

Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning on the one she loves? I awakened you under the apricot tree. There your mother conceived you; there she conceived and gave you birth.

These are the words of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant He had made with them at Horeb.

It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never knew that I healed them.I led them with human cords, with ropes of love. To them I was like one who eases the yoke from their jaws; I bent down to give them food.

Nothing was in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt.

Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand.

He took the blind man by the hand and brought him out of the village. Spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him,“ Do you see anything?”

Indeed, your husband is your Maker— His name is Yahweh of Hosts— and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.

For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you.

and single him out for harm from all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.
