The LORD says,“ The people of Israel who survived death at the hands of the enemy will find favor in the wilderness as they journey to find rest for themselves.

耶和华如此说：“脱离刀剑的就是以色列人。我使他享安息的时候，他曾在旷野蒙恩。

耶和华如此说：“从刀剑生还的百姓在旷野蒙恩；以色列寻找安歇之处。”

“逃脱刀兵之灾的以色列人必在旷野蒙恩，找到安息之所。这是耶和华说的。”

永恆主這麼說：『刀劍屠殺後殘存的人民、以色列、去尋求安身之處，在曠野居然蒙受恩眷；

耶和華曰、以色列免於鋒刃之遺民、在我往錫綏安之際、乃蒙恩寵於曠野、

耶和華又曰、以色列族免鋒刃、遜於荒、沾我鴻恩、歸於福地、

主如是云、昔以色列民得脫鋒刃、適於曠野、蒙我恩寵、我與偕行、使之安息、

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.”

The Lord says,“ Some of my people will live through everything their enemies do to them. They will find help in the desert. I will come to give peace and rest to Israel.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel.”

This is what the LORD says: The people who survived the sword found favor in the wilderness. When Israel went to find rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when it went to find its rest.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest.”

Thus saith Jehovah, The people that were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

This is what the Lord says: They found favor in the wilderness— the people who survived the sword. When Israel went to find rest,

Thus saith the LORD, The people[ which were] left of the sword found grace in the wilderness;[ even] Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

Yahweh says,“ The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

the one who was constantly going before you to find places for you to set up camp. He appeared by fire at night and cloud by day, to show you the way you ought to go.

So I made a vow in my anger,‘ They will never enter into the resting place I had set aside for them.’”

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

I will tell of the faithful acts of the LORD, of the LORD’s praiseworthy deeds. I will tell about all the LORD did for us, the many good things he did for the family of Israel, because of his compassion and great faithfulness.He said,“ Certainly they will be my people, children who are not disloyal.” He became their deliverer.Through all that they suffered, he suffered too. The messenger sent from his very presence delivered them. In his love and mercy he protected them; he lifted them up and carried them throughout ancient times.But they rebelled and offended his holy Spirit, so he turned into an enemy and fought against them.His people remembered the ancient times. Where is the one who brought them up out of the sea, along with the shepherd of his flock? Where is the one who placed his holy Spirit among them,the one who made his majestic power available to Moses, who divided the water before them, gaining for himself a lasting reputation,who led them through the deep water? Like a horse running on flat land they did not stumble.Like an animal that goes down into a valley to graze, so the Spirit of the LORD granted them rest. In this way you guided your people, gaining for yourself an honored reputation.

So they traveled from the mountain of the LORD three days’ journey; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD was traveling before them during the three days’ journey, to find a resting place for them.

All along the way I, the LORD your God, have blessed your every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wasteland. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing.’”

And the LORD said,“ My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

to the one who led his people through the wilderness, for his loyal love endures,to the one who struck down great kings, for his loyal love endures,and killed powerful kings, for his loyal love endures,Sihon, king of the Amorites, for his loyal love endures,Og, king of Bashan, for his loyal love endures,and gave their land as an inheritance, for his loyal love endures,as an inheritance to Israel his servant, for his loyal love endures,to the one who remembered us when we were down, for his loyal love endures,and snatched us away from our enemies, for his loyal love endures,

He brought his people out enriched with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled.Egypt was happy when they left, for they were afraid of them.He spread out a cloud for a cover, and provided a fire to light up the night.They asked for food, and he sent quails; he satisfied them with food from the sky.He opened up a rock and water flowed out; a river ran through dry regions.Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant.When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken afterward about another day.Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

The enemy said,‘ I will chase, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

The LORD your God is about to go ahead of you; he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt

He led them with a cloud by day, and with the light of a fire all night long.He broke open rocks in the wilderness, and gave them enough water to fill the depths of the sea.He caused streams to flow from the rock, and made the water flow like rivers.

During that long period of time the king of Egypt died, and the Israelites groaned because of the slave labor. They cried out, and their desperate cry because of their slave labor went up to God.

for you have not yet come to the final stop and inheritance the LORD your God is giving you.

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.I also swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them to the land I had given them– a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.I did this because they rejected my regulations, did not follow my statutes, and desecrated my Sabbaths; for their hearts followed their idols.Yet I had pity on them and did not destroy them, so I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.

fed you in the desert with manna( which your ancestors had never before known) so that he might by humbling you test you and eventually bring good to you.

Then the LORD said,“ I have forgiven them as you asked.

Remember the whole way by which he has brought you these forty years through the desert so that he might, by humbling you, test you to see if you have it within you to keep his commandments or not.So he humbled you by making you hungry and then feeding you with unfamiliar manna. He did this to teach you that humankind cannot live by bread alone, but also by everything that comes from the LORD’s mouth.

The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about 600,000 men on foot, plus their dependants.

“ Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

Amalek came and attacked Israel in Rephidim.So Moses said to Joshua,“ Choose some of our men and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.”So Joshua fought against Amalek just as Moses had instructed him; and Moses and Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill.Whenever Moses would raise his hands, then Israel prevailed, but whenever he would rest his hands, then Amalek prevailed.When the hands of Moses became heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other, and so his hands were steady until the sun went down.So Joshua destroyed Amalek and his army with the sword.

But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he chased after the Israelites. Now the Israelites were going out defiantly.The Egyptians chased after them, and all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh and his horsemen and his army overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-Zephon.When Pharaoh got closer, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians marching after them, and they were terrified. The Israelites cried out to the LORD,and they said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the desert? What in the world have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt,‘ Leave us alone so that we can serve the Egyptians, because it is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!’”

Then Pharaoh commanded all his people,“ All sons that are born you must throw into the river, but all daughters you may let live.”

and they said to them,“ May the LORD look on you and judge, because you have made us stink in the opinion of Pharaoh and his servants, so that you have given them an excuse to kill us!”

He gave a command to the clouds above, and opened the doors in the sky.He rained down manna for them to eat; he gave them the grain of heaven.Man ate the food of the mighty ones. He sent them more than enough to eat.He brought the east wind through the sky, and by his strength led forth the south wind.He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores.He caused them to fall right in the middle of their camp, all around their homes.They ate until they were stuffed; he gave them what they desired.

You guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and with a pillar of fire by night to illumine for them the path they were to travel.“ You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven. You provided them with just judgments, true laws, and good statutes and commandments.You made known to them your holy Sabbath; you issued commandments, statutes, and law to them through Moses your servant.You provided bread from heaven for them in their time of hunger, and you brought forth water from the rock for them in their time of thirst. You told them to enter in order to possess the land that you had sworn to give them.

Yet he brought out his people like sheep; he led them through the wilderness like a flock.

“ When you assist the Hebrew women in childbirth, observe at the delivery: If it is a son, kill him, but if it is a daughter, she may live.”
