Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

你已經把我的悲哀變為舞蹈，把我的麻衣脫去，又給我穿上歡樂；

為錫安悲哀的人穿上裝飾，賜給他們華冠代替灰塵，喜樂油代替悲哀，讚美衣代替沮喪的靈，他們必稱為公義的橡樹，是耶和華栽種的，好使他自己得著榮耀。

耶和華所贖的人必歸回；他們必歡呼著進入錫安；永遠的快樂要臨到他們的頭上。他們必得著歡喜快樂，憂愁歎息都必逃避。

童女以色列啊！我要再次建立你，你就必被建立。你要再次拿起鈴鼓，出去和那些歡樂的人一同跳舞。

耶路撒冷城牆舉行奉獻典禮的時候，眾民在各地尋找利未人，帶他們到耶路撒冷來，要他們稱謝、歌唱、敲鈸、彈琴鼓瑟，歡歡喜喜地舉行奉獻典禮。

以這月的兩日，為猶大人脫離仇敵，得享安寧的日子，是轉憂為喜，轉哀為樂的吉日，叫他們在這兩日飲宴歡樂，大家互贈禮物，也賙濟窮人。

現在你們也有憂愁；但我要再見你們，你們的心就會喜樂，你們的喜樂是沒有人能夠奪去的。

願他們一邊跳舞，一邊讚美他的名，擊鼓彈琴歌頌他。

“萬軍之耶和華這樣說：‘四月的禁食、五月的禁食、七月的禁食和十月的禁食都要變為猶大家歡喜快樂的日子和歡樂的節期。所以，你們要喜愛誠實與和平。’

你的太陽必不再下落，你的月亮也必不退縮；因為耶和華要作你永遠的光，你悲哀的日子必要終止。

他們歡歡喜喜地守除酵節七天，因為耶和華使他們歡喜，又使亞述王的心轉向他們，堅固他們的手作以色列神殿的工程。

那一天，眾人獻上極大的祭祀，而且非常歡樂，因為神使他們大大歡樂；連婦女和孩童也都歡樂；耶路撒冷歡樂的聲音在老遠的地方都可以聽見。

蒙耶和華贖回的人必歸回，必歡呼地來到錫安；永遠的喜樂必臨到他們的頭上；他們必得著歡喜和快樂，憂愁和歎息都必逃跑了。

你們要因我所創造的永遠歡喜快樂；因為我創造耶路撒冷成為快樂，使她的居民歡樂。我必因耶路撒冷快樂，因我的子民歡喜；他們中間必不再聽到哭泣的聲音，也不再聽到哀號的聲音。

耶和華必安慰錫安，他要安慰它的一切荒場，使它的曠野像伊甸園一樣，使它的荒地像耶和華的園子一般，在其中必有歡喜快樂、感謝和歌聲。

“萬軍之耶和華這樣說：‘年老的男女必再坐在耶路撒冷的街上；他們因為年紀老邁，各人都手拿拐杖。城裡的街上必滿了男孩女孩，在街上嬉戲。’
