The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen[ that] which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

當約西亞王執政的日子，永恆主對我說：『轉離正道的以色列所行的，你看見了沒有？她怎樣上了各高山，到了各茂盛樹下，在那裏行淫。

當約西亞王時、耶和華諭我曰、悖逆之以色列、其所為者、汝見之乎、彼陟諸高岡、詣諸綠樹、行淫於彼、

當約西亞王年間、耶和華告耶利米曰、以色列族有若淫婦、爾豈不見乎、彼背我、陟高巒、入茂林、狥欲而行。

約西亞王在位之時、主諭我曰、背叛之以色列所行、爾豈未見乎、彼往各高山上、各茂樹下、崇事偶像、若淫婦行淫、

During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord said to me,“ Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree and has committed adultery there.

During the time Josiah was king, the Lord spoke to me. He said,“ Have you seen what the people of Israel have done? They have not been faithful to me. They have committed adultery with other gods. They worshiped them on every high hill and under every green tree.

The Lord said to me in the days of King Josiah:“ Have you seen what she did, that faithless one, Israel, how she went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and there played the whore?

During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord said to me,“ Have you seen what fickle Israel has done? Like a wife who commits adultery, Israel has worshiped other gods on every hill and under every green tree.

In the days of King Josiah the LORD asked me,“ Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

Then the Lord said to me in the days of King Josiah,“ Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She went up on every high hill and under every leafy tree, and she prostituted herself there.

The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king:“ Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.

Moreover Jehovah said unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

In the days of King Josiah the Lord asked me,“ Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

When Josiah was king of Judah, the LORD said to me,“ Jeremiah, you have no doubt seen what wayward Israel has done. You have seen how she went up to every high hill and under every green tree to give herself like a prostitute to other gods.

Moreover, Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king,“ Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.

In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;

For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

[ For] when I had brought them into the land,[ for] the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels[ and] in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.

[ That] thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.

And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

And when her sister Aholibah saw[ this], she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in[ her] whoredoms.

Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that[ it is] an evil[ thing] and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear[ is] not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.For of old time I have broken thy yoke,[ and] burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD;[ and] I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I[ am] merciful, saith the LORD,[ and] I will not keep[ anger] for ever.Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

For[ so] it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.And the children of Israel did secretly[ those] things that[ were] not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as[ did] the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets,[ and by] all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments[ and] my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that[ were] round about them,[ concerning] whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images,[ even] two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
