我使你們被擄到的那城，你們要為那城求平安，為那城向耶和華祈求，因為那城得平安，你們也隨着得平安。

我把你们掳到的那城，你们要为她求平安，为她向耶和华祈祷；因为她得平安，你们也得平安。’

你們要為所住的城市謀求福祉，向耶和華禱告，因為你們的福祉有賴於那城的福祉。」

我把你們擄到的那城，你們要為她求平安，為她向耶和華祈禱；因為她得平安，你們也得平安。’

我使你們流亡到的那城，你們要為它求福利，為它禱告永恆主，因為那城得福利，你們也隨着得福利。

我使爾被虜所至之邑、宜求其安、亦為之祈禱耶和華、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

予俾爾為俘囚、至於斯邑、汝當求予、錫斯邑以平康、蓋斯邑綏安、爾亦得享。

我使爾被擄至巴比倫邑、當為斯邑祈求我、我原文作主賜之以平康、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Also work for the success of the city I have sent you to. Pray to the Lord for that city. If it succeeds, you too will enjoy success.”

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

Pursue the well-being of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.”

Seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord in its behalf; for in its prosperity will be your prosperity.’

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto Jehovah for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Seek the welfare of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the Lord on its behalf, for when it has prosperity, you will prosper.”

Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the LORD for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

所以，我勸你，首先要為人人祈求、禱告、代求、感謝；為君王和一切在位的，也要如此，使我們能夠敬虔端正地過平穩寧靜的生活。

好叫他們獻馨香的祭給天上的上帝，又為王和王眾子的壽命祈禱。

凡天上之上帝所吩咐的，當為天上之上帝的殿切實辦理。何必使憤怒臨到王和王眾子的國呢？

於是稱為伯提沙撒的但以理驚駭片時，心意驚惶。王說：「伯提沙撒啊，不要因夢和夢的解釋驚惶。」伯提沙撒回答說：「我主啊，願這夢歸給恨惡你的人，這夢的解釋歸給你的敵人。

你們為主的緣故要順服人的一切制度，或是在上的君王，或是君王所派懲惡賞善的官員。因為上帝的旨意原是要你們以行善來堵住糊塗無知人的口。雖然你們是自由的，卻不可藉着自由遮蓋惡毒，總要作上帝的僕人。務要尊重眾人；要敬愛教中的弟兄姊妹；要敬畏上帝；要尊敬君王。

王啊，求你悅納我的諫言，以施行公義除去罪過，以憐憫窮人除掉罪惡，或者你的平安可以延長。」

所以，你們必須順服，不但是因上帝的憤怒，也是因着良心。

在上有權柄的，人人要順服，因為沒有權柄不是來自上帝的。掌權的都是上帝所立的。

那時，總長和總督在治國的事務上尋找但以理的把柄，為要控告他；只是找不到任何的把柄和過失，因他忠心辦事，毫無錯誤過失。那些人就說：「我們要找但以理的把柄，若不從他上帝的律法中下手，就尋不着。」
