我把你们掳到的那城，你们要为她求平安，为她向耶和华祈祷；因为她得平安，你们也得平安。’

我使你們流亡到的那城，你們要為它求福利，為它禱告永恆主，因為那城得福利，你們也隨着得福利。

我使爾被虜所至之邑、宜求其安、亦為之祈禱耶和華、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

予俾爾為俘囚、至於斯邑、汝當求予、錫斯邑以平康、蓋斯邑綏安、爾亦得享。

我使爾被擄至巴比倫邑、當為斯邑祈求我、我原文作主賜之以平康、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Also work for the success of the city I have sent you to. Pray to the Lord for that city. If it succeeds, you too will enjoy success.”

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

Pursue the well-being of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.”

Seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord in its behalf; for in its prosperity will be your prosperity.’

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto Jehovah for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Seek the welfare of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the Lord on its behalf, for when it has prosperity, you will prosper.”

Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the LORD for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

因此，我劝你最重要的是要为万人、君王和一切有权位的恳求、祷告、代求和感恩，好让我们可以敬虔庄重地过平静安稳的日子。

好让他们可以献馨香的祭给天上的神，为王和王的子孙祈求长寿。

天上的神命令的，就要为天上神的殿热心去作，免得忿怒临到王和王的子孙的国。

于是那称为伯提沙撒的但以理惊愕片时，他想到的事使他惊惶。王对他说：“伯提沙撒啊！别让这梦和梦的意思使你惊惶。”伯提沙撒回答说：“我主啊！愿这梦归给憎恨你的人，梦的意思归给你的敌人。

你们为主的缘故，要顺服人的一切制度，无论是至尊的君王，或是君王所派赏善罚恶的官员；因为这是神的旨意，要藉着你们的善行，塞住糊涂无知人的口。你们是自由的人，但不要用自由来掩饰邪恶，总要像神的仆人。要尊重众人，爱护弟兄，敬畏神，尊敬君王。

因此，王啊！请你接纳我的劝告，施行公义，断绝罪过，怜悯受欺压者，断绝罪孽，你的平安或者可以延长。”

所以你们必须服从，不但是因为刑罚，也是因为良心的缘故。

政府的权柄，人人都应当服从。因为没有一样权柄不是从神来的；掌权的都是神设立的。

于是这些监察司和总督在但以理治国的事上，寻找把柄控告他，只是不能找到任何的把柄和过失，因为他忠心可靠，他们找不到他的任何错误和过失。那些人就说：“如果我们要控告这但以理，就只有在他神的律法中去找把柄。”
