this is what the Lord says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the Lord, because he has preached rebellion against me.’”

故此永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必察罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅和他的後裔；他必沒有一人住在這人民中間得見我所要施行於我人民的福樂，永恆主發神諭說，因為他向永恆主說了叛逆的話。」』

故耶和華曰、我必罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅、爰及苗裔、蓋彼出言悖逆耶和華、必無一人生存、居於民中、亦不得見我所將錫我民之福、耶和華言之矣、

故我云、必罰之、爰及苗裔、彼使人違我、故我錫福於斯民、彼不得享、彼之子孫、必絕滅於民間。

故主如是云、我必罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅、爰及苗裔、無一人存留居斯民中、不得見我所欲降我民之福、因彼所言、使人違逆我、我原文作主此乃主所言、

So I say,‘ I will certainly punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite. I will also punish his children after him. He will not have any children left among these people. I will do good things for my people. But he will not see them,’ ” ’ ” announces the Lord.“ ‘ “ ‘That’s because he has taught people to turn against me.’ ” ’ ”

therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah of Nehelam and his descendants. He shall not have anyone living among this people, and he shall not see the good that I will do to my people, declares the Lord, for he has spoken rebellion against the Lord.’”

I will punish him and his family. None of his descendants will see the good things I will do for my people, for he has incited you to rebel against me. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”

this is what the LORD says: I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be even one of his descendants living among these people, nor will any ever see the good that I will bring to my people— this is the LORD’s declaration— for he has preached rebellion against the LORD.’”

therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants; he will not have anyone living among this people, and he will not see the good that I am going to do for My people,” declares the Lord,“ because he has spoken falsely against the Lord.” ’ ”

therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his family: he shall not have anyone to dwell among this people, nor shall he see the good that I will do for My people, says the Lord, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord.

therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed; he shall not have a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he behold the good that I will do unto my people, saith Jehovah, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

this is what the Lord says: I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be even one of his descendants living among these people, nor will any ever see the good that I will bring to My people”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ for he has preached rebellion against the Lord.”

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.

Because he has done this,” the LORD says,“ I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his whole family. There will not be any of them left to experience the good things that I will do for my people. I, the LORD, affirm it! For he counseled rebellion against the LORD.”’”

therefore Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his offspring. He will not have a man to dwell among this people. He won’t see the good that I will do to my people,” says Yahweh,“ because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.”’”

Therefore this is what the Lord says:‘ I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the Lord.’”

That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

The officer had said to the man of God,“ Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” The man of God had replied,“ You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!”And that is exactly what happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died.

“ Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.The time is coming when I will cut short your strength and the strength of your priestly house, so that no one in it will reach old age,and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age.Every one of you that I do not cut off from serving at my altar I will spare only to destroy your sight and sap your strength, and all your descendants will die in the prime of life.“‘ And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you— they will both die on the same day.

The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God,“ Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?”“ You will see it with your own eyes,” answered Elisha,“ but you will not eat any of it!”

This is what the Lord says:“ Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah.”

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house will go into exile to Babylon. There you will die and be buried, you and all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.’”

Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor.Joshua said,“ Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them.

Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and his skin was leprous— it had become as white as snow.

So they moved away from the tents of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram had come out and were standing with their wives, children and little ones at the entrances to their tents.Then Moses said,“ This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea:If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me.But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.”As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apartand the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions.They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community.

Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:‘ Jehonadab son of Rekab will never fail to have a descendant to serve me.’”

“ Therefore this is what the Lord says:“‘ Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be measured and divided up, and you yourself will die in a pagan country. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land.’”

you will not join them in burial, for you have destroyed your land and killed your people. Let the offspring of the wicked never be mentioned again.

This is what the Lord says:“ When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,“ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.I will be found by you,” declares the Lord,“ and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord,“ and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord Almighty.“ I will wipe out Babylon’s name and survivors, her offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.

May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes.May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children.May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation.May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out.May their sins always remain before the Lord, that he may blot out their name from the earth.
