彼得和使徒們回答說：『我們應當服從上帝的權柄，而不服從人呀。

但是彼得約翰卻回答他們說：『聽你們、過於聽上帝，這在上帝面前對不對，你們自己判斷吧。

『永恆主這麼說：你要站在永恆主之殿的院子，對猶大眾城市的人、那些到永恆主之殿來敬拜的、將我所吩咐你對他們說的話都告訴他們，一個字也不可減少。

因此你，你務要束腰，站立起來，將我所吩咐你的一切話告訴他們；不要因他們而驚慌，免得我使你在他們面前膽怯。而我呢，看哪，我今日乃是使你成為堡壘城，成為鐵柱、銅牆、以抵禦全地，敵擋猶大的列王和首領、她的祭司、和國內的眾民。

永恆主這麼說：『你去買個窰匠的瓦瓶，帶着民間的長老，和祭司中的長老，出去到欣嫩子平谷哈珥西門口那裏，在那裏宣告我所告訴你的話。你要說：「猶大列王、和耶路撒冷的居民哪，你們要聽永恆主的話。萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：看吧，我必使災禍臨到這地方，就是凡聽見的人耳朵都會顫動的。

永恆主選取了我、使我不趕羊；永恆主對我說：「你去向我人民以色列傳神言。」『如今呢、你要聽永恆主的話。你說：「不可傳神言攻擊以色列，不可發神言攻擊以撒家。」故此永恆主這麼說：「你的妻子必在城中做妓女，你的兒女必倒斃於刀下，你的土地必被測量繩所瓜分；你自己呢、必在不潔淨之地死掉，以色列民一定流亡、離開本地。」』
