則詣王宮、諸候伯坐於彼、即繕寫以利沙瑪、示瑪雅子第萊雅、亞革博子以利拿單、沙番子基瑪利亞、哈拿尼亞子西底家、及其餘之侯伯、米該雅以所聞之言、即巴錄讀卷於民前之時所聞者、悉告彼、諸侯伯遣古示曾孫示利米亞孫尼探亞子猶底、詣巴錄所、告之曰、爾所讀使民聽之卷、爾可攜之至、尼利亞子巴錄遂手執卷而至其前、眾謂之曰、爾坐讀卷使我儕聽、巴錄讀之使眾聽、眾聞此諸言、互相驚訝、謂巴錄曰、我必以此諸言諸言或作諸事告王、又問巴錄曰、爾如何由耶利米之口、書此諸言、明以告我、巴錄對曰、斯諸言、耶利米以口述於我、我以筆墨書之於卷、諸侯伯告巴錄曰、爾與耶利米且往自匿、勿使人知爾曹於何處、

眾牧伯與民眾、告諸祭司與諸先知曰、斯人不當擬死罪、因奉主我天主之命而言於我儕、國中長老數人遂起、告民之會眾曰、

然沙番子亞希甘護耶利米、免耶利米見付於民手殺之、

其中牧伯、若狼攫傷生物、彼殺人流血、傷害人命、為獲不義之財、

以利拿單、第萊雅、基瑪利亞、求王勿焚卷、王弗聽、

諸牧伯奏王曰、斯人以如此之言、述於斯邑中所遺之武士百姓、使彼喪膽、斯人不求民之利益、利益或作得平康惟求其害、當殺之、西底家王曰、斯人在爾手中、王毫不能禁爾、眾遂以耶利米下於哈米勒子瑪勒家坑中、即在獄院、以繩縋之下、坑無水、惟有淤泥、耶利米遂沈入於泥中、

耶利米曰、非也、我不欲降迦勒底人、伊利雅不聽、仍執耶利米、解至侯伯前、侯伯怒耶利米、撻之、囚之於獄、在繕寫約拿單室、蓋眾以此室為獄、於是耶利米下獄、囚於窖多日、

以色列牧伯、俱於爾中竭力殺人流血、
