There will be no sanctuary for the shepherds, Nor escape for the masters of the flock.

The shepherds will have nowhere to flee, the leaders of the flock no place to escape.

The shepherds won’t have any place to run to. The leaders of the flock won’t be able to escape.

No refuge will remain for the shepherds, nor escape for the lords of the flock.

You will find no place to hide; there will be no way to escape.

Flight will be impossible for the shepherds, and escape, for the leaders of the flock.

And the shepherds will have no way to flee, Nor the leaders of the flock to escape.

But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook Zedekiah in the desert plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him.Then they captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.And the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he also slaughtered all the commanders of Judah in Riblah.Then he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him with bronze shackles and brought him to Babylon and put him in prison until the day of his death.

The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.Then the kings of the earth and the eminent people, and the commanders and the wealthy and the strong, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;and they* said to the mountains and the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the sight of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;for the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army.And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone.And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

And as for you, you will not escape from his hand, for you will assuredly be caught and handed over to him; and you will see the king of Babylon eye to eye, and he will speak with you face to face, and you will go to Babylon.’ ” ’

For the Lord of armies will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is arrogant and haughty, And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be brought low.And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan,Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up,Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall,Against all the ships of Tarshish And against all the delightful ships.And the pride of humanity will be humbled And the arrogance of people will be brought low; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day,And the idols will completely vanish.People will go into caves of the rocks And into holes in the ground Away from the terror of the Lord And the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to terrify the earth.On that day people will throw away to the moles and the bats Their idols of silver and their idols of gold, Which they made for themselves to worship,In order to go into the clefts of the rocks and the crannies of the cliffs Before the terror of the Lord and the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to terrify the earth.Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

But if you do not surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city will be handed over to the Chaldeans; and they will burn it with fire, and you yourself will not escape from their hands.’ ”

That same night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was killed.

They are also going to bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans, and you yourself will not escape from their hand, but will be seized by the hand of the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned with fire.’ ”

Then the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest and Zephaniah the second priest, with the three officers of the temple.He also took from the city one official who was overseer of the warriors, seven of the king’s advisers who were found in the city, the scribe of the commander of the army who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men from the people of the land who were found inside the city.Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguards took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.Then the king of Babylon struck them and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was led into exile from its land.

So it will happen on that day, That the Lord will punish the rebellious angels of heaven on high, And the kings of the earth on earth.They will be gathered together Like prisoners in the dungeon, And will be confined in prison; And after many days they will be punished.Then the moon will be ashamed and the sun be put to shame, For the Lord of armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, And His glory will be before His elders.

and Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but he will certainly be handed over to the king of Babylon, and he will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

“ The one who flees from the terror Will fall into the pit, And the one who climbs up out of the pit Will be caught in the snare; For I will bring upon her, upon Moab, The year of their punishment,” declares the Lord.

Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’ ”

But he revolted against him by sending his messengers to Egypt so that they might give him horses and many troops. Will he succeed? Will he who does these things escape? Can he indeed break the covenant and escape?
