I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness. I will put an end to the voices of brides and grooms. The sound of grinding millstones will not be heard anymore. And lamps will not be lit anymore.

Moreover, I will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the grinding of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will take away your happy singing and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will no longer be heard. Your millstones will fall silent, and the lights in your homes will go out.

I will eliminate the sound of joy and gladness from them— the voice of the groom and the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

維時、我必使猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢、無有歡欣喜樂之聲、與新娶者及新婦之聲、以斯土成為荒蕪矣、

我必息爾謳歌之聲、不復聞爾琴瑟之音、

鼓琴奏樂品簫吹角之聲、不復聞於爾間、百工不復見於爾間、磨聲不復聞於爾間、燈光不復照於爾間、新郎新婦之聲、不復聞於爾間、蓋爾諸商素為世之尊者、萬國亦以爾巫術而受惑矣、

蓋萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、爾在世之日、我必使歡愉喜樂之聲、新娶者與新婦之聲、絕於斯土、爾目睹之、

耶和華曰、爾言斯土荒蕪、人畜俱泯、然在猶大諸邑、暨耶路撒冷街衢、無居民、無人畜之處、必復聞歡欣喜樂之聲、新娶者與新婦之聲、亦聞人言宜稱謝萬軍之耶和華、蓋耶和華為善、慈惠永存、又聞人攜酬恩祭、入於耶和華室、因我必返斯土之俘囚、使之如初、耶和華言之矣、

我與我民見鬻、欲加殺戮翦滅、俾歸隕亡、我儕若被鬻為奴為婢、我則緘默不言、蓋以我儕遇禍、較王受損、不足數也、

詔曰、王許各州諸邑之猶大人、於十二月、即亞達月十三日、一日之間咸集、自相扞衛、以保其生、殺戮翦滅各州作勢攻彼之人、使之隕亡、及厥婦孺、取其貨財、以為己有、

即在日月星辰之光、未及晦冥、雨後之雲、未及復起、維時、守宅者必戰慄、有力者必傴僂、旋磨者稀而止、窺牖者昏而暗、臨街之門將閉、旋磨之聲漸微、禽鳥起鳴、歌女音低、

亦必息其歡樂、節期、月朔、安息日、及諸大會、

新釀悲哀、葡萄衰殘、心懽愉者、無不慨歎、播鼗之音息、歡忭之聲寂、鼓琴之樂歇、不復飲酒而歌、飲者以醇醪為苦、荒涼之邑傾毀、第宅盡閉、無人得入、人因乏酒、號呼於衢、喜樂俱晦、境內之歡娛已杳、城中荒涼、邑門破壞、

遣郵傳詔各州、使於十二月、即亞達月十三日、一日之間、將猶大人、無論老幼、嬰孩婦女、盡行殺戮翦滅、俾其隕亡、取其貨財、以為己有、
