I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.

I will change their hearts. Then they will know that I am the Lord. They will be my people. And I will be their God. They will return to me with all their heart.

and you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey him with all your heart and all your soul by doing everything I am commanding you today,then he will restore your fortunes, have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.Even if your exiles are at the farthest horizon, he will gather you and bring you back from there.The LORD your God will bring you into the land your ancestors possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will cause you to prosper and multiply you more than he did your ancestors.The LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love him with all your heart and all your soul so that you will live.

“‘ For I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols.I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances.You will live in the land that I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.

Today you have affirmed that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in his ways, keep his statutes, commands, and ordinances, and obey him.And today the LORD has affirmed that you are his own possession as he promised you, that you are to keep all his commands,that he will elevate you to praise, fame, and glory above all the nations he has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God as he promised.”

When they sin against you— for there is no one who does not sin— and you are angry with them and hand them over to the enemy, and their captors deport them to the enemy’s country— whether distant or nearby—and when they come to their senses in the land where they were deported and repent and petition you in their captors’ land:“ We have sinned and done wrong; we have been wicked,”and when they return to you with all their heart and all their soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and when they pray to you in the direction of their land that you gave their ancestors, the city you have chosen, and the temple I have built for your name,may you hear in heaven, your dwelling place, their prayer and petition and uphold their cause.May you forgive your people who sinned against you and all their rebellions against you, and may you grant them compassion before their captors, so that they may treat them compassionately.

and when they return to you with all their mind and all their heart in the land of their captivity where they were taken captive, and when they pray in the direction of their land that you gave their ancestors, and the city you have chosen, and toward the temple I have built for your name,

They will be my people, and I will be their God.I will give them integrity of heart and action so that they will fear me always, for their good and for the good of their descendants after them.“ I will make a permanent covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put fear of me in their hearts so they will never again turn away from me.

But from there, you will search for the LORD your God, and you will find him when you seek him with all your heart and all your soul.When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, in the future you will return to the LORD your God and obey him.He will not leave you, destroy you, or forget the covenant with your ancestors that he swore to them by oath, because the LORD your God is a compassionate God.

“ Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”— the LORD’s declaration.“ I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying,‘ Know the LORD,’ for they will all know me, from the least to the greatest of them”— this is the LORD’s declaration.“ For I will forgive their iniquity and never again remember their sin.

Samuel told them,“ If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, get rid of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths that are among you, set your hearts on the LORD, and worship only him. Then he will rescue you from the Philistines.”

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call to him while he is near.Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.

But they now desire a better place— a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.

You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.I will be found by you”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you”— this is the LORD’s declaration.“ I will restore you to the place from which I deported you.”

But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over,

I have put my words in your mouth, and covered you in the shadow of my hand, in order to plant the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion,“ You are my people.”

Israel, return to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.Take words of repentance with you and return to the LORD. Say to him,“ Forgive all our iniquity and accept what is good, so that we may repay you with praise from our lips.Assyria will not save us, we will not ride on horses, and we will no longer proclaim,‘ Our gods!’ to the work of our hands. For the fatherless receives compassion in you.”

I will put this third through the fire; I will refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say,‘ They are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The LORD is our God.’”

I will give them integrity of heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone from their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,so that they will follow my statutes, keep my ordinances, and practice them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Yet in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah didn’t return to me with all her heart— only in pretense.” This is the LORD’s declaration.
