耶和華曰、人豈能退藏於密、使我不見之乎、我豈非充乎天地哉、

人能退藏於密、使我不見乎、我豈不能充乎天地哉。

主曰、人豈能藏匿於隱密、使我不見乎、主曰、我豈不充滿天地乎、

The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, observing the wicked and the good.

You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the LORD. They do their works in the dark, and say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

But will God indeed live on earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

This is what the LORD says: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where could you possibly build a house for me? And where would my resting place be?

If I say,“ Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night”—even the darkness is not dark to you. The night shines like the day; darkness and light are alike to you.For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.

He says to himself,“ God has forgotten; he hides his face and will never see.”

For the High and Exalted One, who lives forever, whose name is holy, says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

So she named the LORD who spoke to her:“ You are El-roi,” for she said,“ In this place, have I actually seen the one who sees me?”

If they dig down to Sheol, from there my hand will take them; if they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down.If they hide on the top of Carmel, from there I will track them down and seize them; if they conceal themselves from my sight on the sea floor, from there I will command the sea serpent to bite them.

Yet you say,“ What does God know? Can he judge through total darkness?Clouds veil him so that he cannot see, as he walks on the circle of the sky.”

Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted. His majesty covers heaven and earth.

He answered me,“ The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is extremely great; the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity. For they say,‘ The LORD has abandoned the land; he does not see.’

But will God indeed live on earth with humans? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

But I will strip Esau bare; I will uncover his secret places. He will try to hide, but he will be unable. His descendants will be destroyed along with his relatives and neighbors. He will exist no longer.

All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and he does what he wants with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can block his hand or say to him,“ What have you done?”

which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

He said to me,“ Son of man, do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his idol? For they are saying,‘ The LORD does not see us. The LORD has abandoned the land.’”

The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking,“ No eye will see me,” and he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.

But who is able to build a temple for him, since even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain him? Who am I then that I should build a temple for him except as a place to burn incense before him?
